Does anyone have any ideas as to why I'm unable to start WSR macros? It just makes an error beep sound, starts windows speech recognition if not running so it runs partially, but then it closes down immediately. No messages in the application or system event log. I'm able to use speech recognition without a problem. thanks for any suggestions. Chip

I need to use this regedit for my Vista home premium laptop running on a home network with various flavours of Mac OSX. Could somebody please explain any potential hazards to lowering the HKEY of the LSA to 1 for someone using a laptop on a home network as well as a public network. Am I making my laptop vulnerable when it is on a public network? many thanks! -- devisionbell ------------------------------------------------------------------------ devisionbell's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/members/devisionbell.htm View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/vista-help/663397.htm http://forums.techarena.in

I tried to set a network folder to work with off-line files. However, in doing that, I got an error for every file that it was in use by another process. I rebooted my computer and other computers that I thought might be using the network folders. However, it didn't solve the problem. Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this?

Vista home premium. 32. HP about 1 1/2 years old. Not my only problem, but the latest. I've had strange files show up in places they shouldn't be before, but this is worst of all so far. I discovered that there is suddenly a folder called Desktop with a path /owner, and it has besides some of the files that the REAL desktop shows and a folder called Documents which is empty. (In my attempts to fix this before I called in System Restore, the Documents folder within the extra Desktop had within it an empty folder named Desktop.) Unfortunately I don't have a decent recent backup , so I have to figure out how to get rid of it. I throw this other problem in beca…
