I've built a Domain Admin User acct in my W2K8 DC (DAUser) for the purpose of installing software other than using the Domain Administrator or local administrator accts. When I use this acct to log onto a different W2K8 server (who is a member of the domain), this server does not see this acct as a DA or even an administrator acct. I've ensured the DA group is in the local administrators group. (I've even tried adding the acct DAUser directly into the local administrators group too)

When I start Internet Explorer 7 from an internet shortcut on the desktop, Windows Explorer hangs and I get a "Windows Explorer is not responding" dialog box. If I start IE from its icon and subsequently select the same desktop shortcut, everything is fine. If I change the default browser to something like Opera, the desktop shortcuts work fine. In Internet Explorer I have disabled all Add-ons and third-party browser extensions, and neither has helped . I am running Vista Ultimate 32bit. My desktop wallpaper disappeared ... I had a picture up for several days and the desktop just turned black ... all icons are still there, just the picture is gone ... when I go to Display Properties/Desktop, it shows the picture that used to be there ... I tried changing to a different picture, and nothing happened ... About twelve hours later, the picture reappeared ... but only for an hour or so ... now the desktop is black again ... Does anyone know how I can troubleshoot/fix this ...?? Thanks much ... CJ

Hi I'm recording a talking book audio cassette into my computer using line-in from the headphone plug on a cassette player into Adobe Audition 1.5 The wave track is recording fine into adobe, and the playback is fine too. However, I can't hear the cassette playing in the PC's speakers when recording. This used to work fine I have checked my recording & playback settings and they seem fine Tried different tapes & cassette players Would anyone know what is wrong & how to fix please? I have Googled extensively for help on this, but although there are many, many reports of this problem, none of the solutions work for me, and no one has offered an explanation for the problem. All was well with my recently re-installed Windows XP SP3 set-up. I used Acronis Disk Director 10 to move some partitions around and resize them. Later, when I rebooted, all seemed fine, but when I started Disk Director again it hung on one drive. I left it for a while (10 minutes) and noticed that it had moved to another drive and hung there. Eventually, having left it for an hour or more, it showed the GUI, but doing anything with the problem drives caused another hang…

Hi guys, we have a stand-alone CA for deploy EFS certificates for users, these certificates will expire soon and i would like to know if the directories encrypted from users with current certificates will become not accessible when it expires. Recently I was unstalling some programs from my computer and I accidently deleted the SQL Dumper. Is there any way to reinstall without completely reinstalling the entire disk?

Just installed a program called TimeClock Plus which uses the MSDE 2000 function and also it has to have a com port in the TCP/IP area. Default is 1430 but we had to use 1555 because there default settings uses 1430 and this caused the database on the TimeClock plus program not to work. Shadow copy will not run when the TimeClock SQL manager is running. If I stop the SQL server program and run the Shadow Copy again it works. I need some help on this. I called Time Clock Plus and they had me change the ports from 1555 to a few others but this has not worked. I also have heard if I set the loop back in the firewall settings this will fix the problem. I cannot…

Hi everyone, I have some problems about using SubInAcl. 1. I use SubInAcl to modify DACL of registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\1. Before I begin to use SubInAcl, there has existed a ACE for user Everyone has full control permission. After I run the command line: subinacl /regkey HKEY_CURRENT_USER\1 /deny=everyone=c I found the behavior of SubInAcl is that delete the old ACL for user everyone and create a new ACE for everyone with Create SubKey pemission.
