Hi all, Vista Home Premium, 1.8 GHz Intel Duo Core 4300, 2Gb, 1000+ GB working fine albeit a bit sluggish after a year. Shutdown in less than 30". In search of the cause of a slowbooting, 2'30"before I see the Desktop, computer I find in nbtlog.txt among properly loaded drivers always the same 2/4 entries: Loaded driver \SystemRoot\System32\Drivers\NDProxy.SYS Did not load driver \SystemRoot\System32\Drivers\NDProxy.SYS and Loaded driver \SystemRoot\System32\DRIVERS\srv.sys Did not load driver \SystemRoot\System32\DRIVERS\srv.sys Could they be the cause of this lenghty black screen pause c. 1'30" following the bootscreen, before "Welcome"? Hi I have found an article in the past that explained the difference between a User initiated shutdown and a System initiated shutdown. Many of the repsonses to similar questions about "no rdp after reboot" mention the use of shutdown.exe, and this is indeed the fix offered by the KB/Q article I am looking for. However, I would like to be able to qoute the article number in some documentation for some procedures I am putting together. I have searched high and low but I am now requesting your help...who ever might come along. 930045 is not what I am after as it suggests a hanging server and that's not what I get. The article I want centered arou…

Hi community, I've a problem with a special configuration. Vista Ultimate, cygwin sshd installed SSH tunnel (configured to forward RDP port 3389) and Remote Desktop (through tunnel) are working as long as the Windows Firewall is turned off. If I switch it on the SSH tunnel collapses as soon as the Remote Desktop session is established. So, SSH alone is working with an active Firewall. RDP is working with active firewall. Together they are not working  SSHD error log (highest debug level) shows "write failed", but nothing more. Windows Firewall log shows nothing interesting either. Anybody with a hint out there? greetings, CyberMCM -- …

Hi, I have a USB RNDIS network device, which when connected to windows machine shows a network connection. The windows RNDIS driver queries OID_GEN_LINK_SPEED from device, what speed shall device return? I am asking this question because:- My device is a high speed device which means link speed is 480 Mbps. But since my device implements BULK endpoint, the bandwidth allocated to it will be 10% i.e Maximum 48 Mbps. Now If I say the speed is 480 Mbps what will windows use it for? Will the data transfers from window happen at speed of 480 Mbps or this OID property is just to show the link speed in network connection status window. If windows use this va…

I use Network magic to run my wireless network. I just installed an update and now it won't run. One of the steps to fix the problem requires me to change the name of a Windows folder windows/systems32/wbem/repository to repository_bad. Vista (Business) won't let me do it even though I have turned the UAC off! Any ideas anyone? If this has already been addressed elsewhere on this forum I apologize. -- Paddy Ryan Posted via http://www.vistaheads.com

Hi, In the very fast moving IT Industry, there is a need for the people to keep a note of what is happening in the field, what are the latest Jobs available and in which technologies they are available and what companies and also in which cities. And also when applying for Jobs, it is obvious for people to look for Interview Questions in their Technologies and if they are able to find it all at one place, then they can concentrate on studying or doing R&D further on those questions and answers available. And for a better pay pack people are always in a mood of doing certification and at that time they are on a lookout for certification material a…
