I had the same issue and found out this has to do with restricted usage rights applied to the wma files to prevent unauthorized version being deployed. The audio/ video file tries to go on the internet and refresh usage rights automatically. To correct the problem, do these steps: - Open Windows Media Players - Go to Tools | Options | Privacy tab - Remove all checkmark from “Enhanced Playback and Device Experience” - Click Apply and then OK - Close Windows media player and restart your computer - Try he same song again and you won’t get the prompt ever again. Have a nice day! -- dberube ----------------------------------------------------------------…

I am after some general ideas here. We've set up a standard EBS environment with 3 boxes: management server, messaging and security server. Cool. Then we thought we would like a Terminal server and seeing that the management server box had 8GB of RAM, why not play around with virtualisation and put the TS in a VM rather than as a direct role on the management server. A few people think I am wasting my time so I am after some general opinion or experiences please on which option you might think is best: 1. Just put the TS role on the management server anyway. No HyperV. 2. Load the HyperV role onto the management server …

Hi Our Terminal Server (Win2003 Std SP2) is having some problem with msiexec.exe 1, 2 and sometime 3 instances of msiexec.exe is showing up for no rason at all. they're consuming all resources making the whole server slow Even immediately after a restart they can show up. "automatic updates" are disabled They are all running under "system" account. when I'm running Windows update an instance of msiexec.exe under the Administrator account is showing up at the moment of installation, I'm finding this to be the correct behaivour. I can manually end these extra processes of msiexec.exe and that is makes the server speed up, but the strange msiexec.…

We have several servers in a DMZ that have no outbound internet access. We want to run Windows Update from each machine but have an IP-only firewall so we can't allow the standard windowsupdate.microsoft.com / update.microsoft.com route. How are other people handling this? We do have a WSUS server in this environment but it's messed up right now and we just want to get the latest patches on our servers.

This is a limping help. I had a problem with the OS or some sort of mismatch between the bios and something else. MS sent me a 'page' which told you how to find who the manufacturer of your motherboard is. It is simply putting a command (forgot) into the run. Try tracking it down at MS.
