I'm trying to wrap my brain around this Windows Network Projector feature. There doesn't seem to be a lot of info available except how to "find the device". I looked at the hardware compatibility list and many were obsolete and most were not networked. So I'm not sure what projectors to look at. Many show a network port for "management" but I'm not sure that's what Vista means by a "networked projector". And once you've located the projector, how do you stream your data to it? We have TS server running Window server 2003 R2, we also run MS Office 2000. We are having a problem where the user has excel open on there desktop and working quite happily and then suddenly excel with just disappear, no error message appear on screen, now error message are shown in the event log, infact there is no trace of anything having happened. Office 2000 is update with all available updates. Our user base run a mix of PC with MS RDP client and Thin Client Terminals. The disappearing Excel does not show any preference to PC or terminal, large multi page spreadsheet or a few rows on a single page. Any suggestions?? Tim

Hi, I am trying to automate the building od student machines for the classroom using GHOST. So far, everything is working well, however I need to set the DCOM security settings on each machine individually. I have a batch file that is running to do various things after the ghost build, so I need to know how to add this in to the mix. I have a couple of components that I need to add a user in to the "Launch and Activation Permissions" on the "Security" tab as well as altering the username / password on the "Identity" tab. Hi I have an error trying to modify file system permissions on my Vista Ultimate X64 sp1 on which I am administrator. When I click "Add..." in the permission dialog I obtain a box saying: Title: Windows Security Unable to display the user selection dialog. Catastrophic failure And I cannot add users. If I use CACLS or similar tool I succeed with no problems. Any idea? This also occurs trying to change permissions on other servers via shares. This makes my system pretty unusable... Thanks

I've just installed Search 4.0 and it was set to index my Outlook emails but Outlook kept crashing when I close it so I decided not to have my Outlook emails indexed. I deleted the search plugin in Outlook and have de-selected it in Windows Search settings, but every time I open the search settings, Outlook is back. How can I remove it from Windows search permanently? Thanks.

When i right click on Default Domain Policy (in the GPMC), i see that the second item ("applied") under modify is not checked... And tt's the same thing for "Default domain controler policy" ...
