I just wanted to say my firmest thoughts and prayers go out to everyone who has suffered today. 7 years ago, my older brother Tom had his friend killed. Our Super John had his nephew killed. An old post but thought I'd mention how I solved this as the process may help someone even if the fault is different. This was the error: "The server {204810B9-73B2-11D4-BF42-00B0D0118B56} did not register with DCOM within the required timeout." I searched the registry for the {...} reference and found the key: "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{204810b9-73b2-11d4-bf42-00b0d0118b56}" I searched for this and found Microsoft info explaining that it "registers the COM coclass for the UPnPRegistrar interface." Add-ins cause problems with Mouse input in Word 2007 While using Microsoft Office 2007, Word started refusing mouse input. I could not select text, use the right OR left button within the text area. Some menu buttons worked while others did not. My mouse worked normally in other applications. Hi, In my VSS requestor code, I am interested in knowing the Database files and log file volumes/files used by SQL database. Currently, we are using method, IVssWMComponent::GetComponentInfo to get the information about the SQL database component. But what we are seeing is cDatabases and cLogFiles values in VSS_COMPONENTINFO are zero. With these values being zero we are not calling methods, IVssWMComponent::GetDatabaseFile or IVssWMComponent::GetDatabaseLogFile With cFileCount I am able to get the list all all the files but not getting which are for database and which are for logs. Try the following: 1. Navigate to C:\Program Files\Common Files\System and if the DLL files are found. Copy wab32.dll and wab32res.dll to the following directory: C:\Windows\System32 If you are unable to find the files, I have zipped and attached them in the link posted above. Just unzip them to the System32 folder. FYI......Outlook 2000 and Vista incompatibility is a known issue. Outlook uses some common files with Outlook Express. Here is how I fixed this problem on my computer. Before reinstalling vista on my computer i had accidentally installed a game (Grid) on my backup hard drive, as you may have guessed i had to delete, now that i had reinstalled vista. Like you i am set as an admin on my computer as i am the only user, this being the case it still did not let me delete the folder, pain in the a... i went into the security tap in properties and it just had "Dan (Dan-PC\Dan)",though this account is an admin i decided to add "Administrators (Dan-PC Administrators)" to the list, it worked immediately after. hope this helps -- nitesh mehta ----------------------------------…

I had the same problem and found a much easier fix. I logged on in safe mode as describe, then ran a system restore which fixed everything. hi all i have the following problem in windows xp (sp2 now sp3) i have changed sort order to date in windows standart open save requester windows had saved this state if i now want to change sortorder to name, it works temporarely but windows don't save this sortorder state so if i open the open save requester i get sortet by date can anybody help?

Everytime I start my computer and log on my account I am faced with a black screen except for the white mouse pointer in the screen. I can load explorer.exe back using task manager however its quite inconvenient. For any fix on this please let me know. I looked at my registry and explorer.exe is in the shell. Another problem I have is that any video on any video player will not work. I can hear the sound perfectly but no video. Examples of the players I used is DivX, Windows Media Player, Quicktime, and VLC. I'm trying to play a .AVI file but as previously stated I cannot see the video.
