Did anyone ever find a solution to this problem? I have a Media Center that has suddenly lost the ability to burn DVD's. It will transcode the video, start the burning process and then eject the disc, spontaneously aborting the whole process. I am using Nero Version 6. I have tried to update the firmware, but like Em I get the message that I do not meet the "minimum requirements." -- 91Bear ------------------------------------------------------------------------ 91Bear's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/members/91bear.htm View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/windows-update/726898.htm http://forums.techarena.in

  7. We have 2 seperate Domains with a forest level trust. On one Domain we have 3 Server 2003 R2 DC's. On the other Domain we have 1 Server 2008 DC. The trust works just fine as I can browse each Domain from the other, however I need to add user access to the shares on each Domain... I upgraded the 2003 R2 AD Schema to the 2008 AD Schema using adprep /forestprep, so that all the AD's have the same Schema. When I try to add a user to a share, I am able to change the Location to the other Domain, but my problem is that I cannot add a user to any shares from one Domain to the other Domain and vice-versa. Any advice would be appreciated.

XP SP3. Everything's been fine, up until today. If I use Windows Explorer, then try to look at My Computer, it freezes up! I haven't done any updates recently, the only thing I was playing around with recently was an external HDD, which can be a bit troublesome at times. Thanks a lot for any thoughts, best regards, Robert.

I have individual offline files that originate in different network locations. Is there a way in Vista to view all of those individual offline files together under ONE folder (as you could in XP's 'Offline File Folder')? It was convenient to be able see and identify them all in one spot, and easily remove the option on the individual file when no longer needed. The only Vista option I am aware of is: Start, Control Panel, Network & Internet, Offline Files, View Your Offline Files...but here you still have to click through all the folders in the network folder path?

For yr info, companheiro, I had precisely the same problem with a Fujitsu Siemens S6410. As even Fujitsu Siemens technical support could not help me with the solution, I decided to find out on my own. Guess what, Wikipedia gave me the "Caminho das Pedras". Here you got: ------------------------------------------------- UK-Extended Layout Microsoft Windows XP SP2 and above provide the UK-Extended layout which behaves exactly the same as the standard UK layout for all the characters it can generate, but can additionally generate a number of diacritical marks. He has to reboot the computer one more time in order to get his old profile back. Is their a fix for this issue? Thanks in Advance

This problem emerged recently. When I attempt to drag and drop any inconspicuous file from one folder to another absolutely nothing happens. When I attempt to cut and paste instead, I get vista telling me the file is in use - "The action can't be completed because the file is open in another program." I can return several hours later and even sometimes after a reboot and I still can't physically move the file. This is for any file type. Very annoying.

First of all I did a general search on this and all the results spoke about finger prints readers and vista updates. However I am using a new desktop that does not have any finger print readers and Vista already had all the latest updates. The duplicate user icon appears after I did the following. Up to this point I only had one account on the machine. I scheduled my computer to run a program at a specific time on a specific day each week and I did not want to login with my main account to do this. I am also concerned about power usage and heat so I do not want to leave my main account logged in all day and lock only to run a certain application for 1 h…

Windows Vista might be getting dinged in the press lately, but it’s not stopping anyone from seeking the MCTS: Vista — Configuration certification. In fact, the title appear to be one of the hottest of the new-generation Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) exams. According to numbers posted on the Microsoft MCP Web site early this month, 18,869 IT pros worldwide passed an exam to obtain the MCTS: Windows Vista — Configuration. The next big gainer? The MCTS: .NET Framework 2.0 Web Applications certification, at 266 fewer holders than the Vista title. The MCTS: Vista — Configuration title has been available since January 2007, which is when Microsoft relea…
