Hello, I have an USB REV35 IOMEGA connected to a 2003 SP1 Standard server. I use it for Backup purpose. Every day of the week are the disks swapped. It was working without problems about 2 years. Now I have the situation where each time the eject button is pressed, the server startet immediately a reboot with error codes: 0x0000000a (0x00000000, 0x0000001b, 0x00000001, 0x8082947b) And this, since I have updated to the newest driver and firmware (before reboot was sporadic). I don't know where I could begin to look for... Perhaps has someone an idea? More generally, I am wondering now whether this backup method is the right one. Removing a disk …

My company is cutting cost. We want to setup a dial-up server. We have a maximum of 5 concurrent users. If I install 5 internal modems on Windows 2003 server, will 5 users be able to dial in at the same time? Do I need 5 different phone numbers or one phone number? Do I configure RAS on Windows 2003 server? Do you have any suggestions? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I would like to ask two questions. I had to do a reinstall of windows xp. About two years some one helped me get rid of the windows splash screen. It just showed drivers and different files loading very fast in black and white. I thought I did something to the registry but I cant remember. I tried MSCONFIG bootini sos this works but not correctly, Question 2 I have changed my windows xp to the classic windows style and use the classic start window. I get a log on screen when windows is starting up. I am the only one using the computer and only the administrator account is turned on. I tried tweak windows and checked the auto logon but it only works one…

I have a problem with Windows XP x64 where if I access the ShellNew menu from a 32-bit application, it shows only Shortcut and Folder. If I try to access it again, it then displays the full menu. If I then attempt to access the same menu from a 64-bit application, the same issue occurs. Does this occur for everyone using XP x64? Is there any way to fix it? Thanks.

Hello, My name is Sébastien Zimmermann. I’m the developer owner for the Visual Search Feature, which Sharon already described in detail. I also own the Accelerators Button Feature, and during IE7 worked on Setup and Phishing Filter—now “SmartScreen® Filterâ€. In this post, I would like to get you started on creating your own Visual Search service/provider for Internet Explorer 8. If you own or develop websites of any kind—even if it’s a small website or an intranet site—this post is for you. Making your website available for search from within the browser enables your customers/users to access your website whenever they need a service from it, witho…

I recently migrated an old XP system to a new one. The old XP system was able to login to the SBS server as a workgroup computer fine, but the new system couldn't access server shares due to authentication problem. so I tried to log the new system into the server with a domain logon which worked but is a different user id. The problem now is twofold. The migration wizared put all the files in the local logon folder (documents and settings/user1) where as the domain logon puts them in user@mydomain.local's folder. What is the best way to have the domain user take over these local user documents (.doc, .jpg etc). Also when logged onto the domain th…

I'm trying to add Microsoft Access (.mdb) to the system dsn, under the ODBC Administrator in a new computer running Vista. We purchased them and installed Microsoft Office 2007. We have a database that runs off Microsoft Access, and we NEED to set this up under the system dsn, in order to switch it over to the new computer. We've tried re-installing the Microsoft Office software, but it did nothing new. The software seems to be working fine, we just don't have that option in the system dsn. Any advice on how we can have that option in the system dsn list?

:sarc: Hi, All of my Vista users have been having a problem anytime they try to save an Excel or Powerpoint file to a sharepoint list. A window pops up saying the file is already there and asks if they want to save over it--even though it is a brand new file with nothing by that name there--even if it is an empty list. My XP users (even those using Office 2007) do not have this issue. It seems to be a Vista/SharePoint/Excel & PowerPoint issue. ANY help would be appreciated as my users are beginning to drive me up the wall to fix this issue. Thanks, Dale -- Dhollis

We're getting reports from customers of several XP and Vista Business computers no longer able to open and use their Fax Consoles to view the fax server on their SBS 2003 servers. We have confirmed that the Fax Console on the server itself, or those on Windows 2000 Pro computers, are still functioning. These reports started coming in Monday after clients installed critical updates. The common updates installed on the affected machines include: KB938464 KB954478 KB954326 Thanks, Patrick Bates
