NEW YORK, - An ex-con allegedly tried to rob two people in New York, police said, but didn't notice his intended victims were police officers -- in uniform. Police said 65-year-old Adam Albright who was visiting from the midwest allegedly was so intent on robbing someone Saturday that he pulled a fake handgun on the two armed police officers as they walked through Riverside Park, The New York Daily News said. "It was stupid criminal tricks," a police source said. "The guy didn't even look to see who was coming." After Albright allegedly pulled his fake gun, the two officers drew their real weapons and Washington surrendered after a short but tense s…

I can't get Contacts and more than one Signature to stick in WLM 14.0.5027.0908 Beta, using XP SP3. Each time I exit WLM they disappear. Is anyone else experiencing this problem? Is it a known bug in WLM 14.0.5027.0908 Beta? Does anyone have something smart to say on this problem? -- DSH Lux et Veritas et Libertas Vires et Honor

I am using business server 2003 and Dell originally set the active partition © (1 Drive - there are two partitions C and F) to just 10 gigabytes and I need to grow that space. I have a dynamic mirrored drive and have physically disconnected it - the second hard drive. I am using RAID 1. I will use EASEUS Partition Manager Server Edition to do the repartition. What do I have to do with the mirror settings before I perform the repartitioning. Righjt Click and remove, delete, or break the mirror. Secondly if the repartition goes well, how do I reset the second hard drive to mirror the new size? -- *************************** Mark M Simonian, MD 681 …

Hi All! I have been investigating a problem that made Vista complain of Multiple Security issues. It told me that Windows Updates were not activated (they were but got switched off by someting). On trying to click FIX I get a message that "Security Cener can't change your automatic updaing settings". When I tried going into updates manually I get a partially loaded Update Window dialogue. Picture here: http://www.fmpc.co.uk/mypics/untitled.bmp No error codes are given. As I was checking that problem I run Windows Update on a laptop at the same location and when it had finished restarting a message came up sayting that there are multiple security issues. Wh…

ChooseColor Dialog - Can Only Enter 2 Digits, Not 3 This bug has something to do with font sizes, display settings and XP not being "DPI Aware". To fix this, simply modify the COMDLG32.DLL file by increasing the input box size. This modification does not cause any problems at all. It is perfectly safe. Instructions: 1. Download "Resource Hacker" and install it: http://www.angusj.com/resourcehacker/ 2. Backup the original. Open the Run box and enter: xcopy C:\WINDOWS\system32\COMDLG32.DLL C:\WINDOWS\system32\COMDLG32.DLL.bak 3. Run "Resource Hacker" and open: C:\WINDOWS\system32\COMDLG32.DLL 4. Expand "Dialog". 5. Strange obscure behavior. On my brothers laptop, in documents a folder with pictures disapeared. But if He searches the folder name it comes up with all the files. Ive never seen this one before. Interesting point: In properties for some of the files in the search view they are showing 0 bytes and opens to a blank window. Has anyone ever seen this before? Thanks in advance for any advice.
