Not sure if someone is still reading this post but i'm having the same problem. When I connect from one server to another server (2008) through RDP i get the message "the saved credentials did not work...". I already tried all options: checked remote settings on both servers but they are fine, group policy is configured correctly and is updated with "gpupdate /force". The Terminal Services Configuration is also fine and has a valid SSL certificate but I still got the stupid warning (even after a system reboot :@). The server i'm trying to connect with is named 'mainframe2' but when I entered the full FQDN in RDP (mainframe2.corp.xxxxxx.eu) the message was …

Hi all. I have a Windows2003 terminal server, joined to my domain. This machine works great for many RDP users. I recently added a new domain user configuring the option "Start the following program at logon". The user logs on the machine, but he gains access to the standard desktop, the program I configure doesn't start at logon. I tried the same configuration of some other users who work fine, I tried to start the "notepad.exe" or the "CMD.exe"... nothing. The user always experience a standard logon. The setting on the "enviroment" tab seems to be ignored. The user is "clean". No particular policies or other settings are applied. I don't think t…

I just ran showacls /s and only received about 1/3 of the directory which amounted to a 2.5mb text file. Does it have a limit and if so how can I get the rest without specifying each letter (D*, E*, etc). Thanks!

Hi, I have a laptop with Windows XP which is registered as a computer in a group on the intranet at work. When I try to open a local file, XP checks the intranet first. This is OK at work. But at home with a wireless connection to the internet, when I try to open a local file, XP tries to check the now nonexistent intranet and the delay in opening a local file is nearly a minute before it times out and the file is opened. Is there a way to alter this behavior? Thanks, Barry Goluboff

We have a win 2003 server which is accessed by multiple clients (around 10) by RDP. The machine has 4GB memory. When we start a SAS sort, the performance monitor shows a lot of page faults, but the machine has still 2GB memory available. Why does a process experience page faults when there is plenty of memory free? Martin

I'm trying to get Narrator working. The problem I have is that the keyboard shortcuts listed in help don't seem to work e.g. Insert+F6 results in Narrator announcing 'insert' instead of reading the paragraph of text. Maybe it's that Narrator doesn't work in Word????? Any help would be much appreciated. -- Rachel1

We just install our first Windows 2008 Server. We find that when we use RDP to access it, it works as remote access (we haven't used /admin option). From the web, we learn that Windows 2008 supports 2 active session if TS is not installed. If it is true, we wonder why RDP session is a Console Session. Your advice is sought.
