I have a vista client that will go into sleepmode and then locks. I have set the power setting to never go into sleepmode and it still does it. Is it possible that the powersettings are corrupt. If so how do i repair the settings.

Ok, I have gone through this before and it is time to rehash it. I hibernate my laptop every night using Shutter.exe. http://www.den4b.com/screenshots.php?project=Shutter and it works fine. By that I mean, not only does it hibernate my laptop at the scheduled time but it also allows my scheduled wake-up tasks to run, which Rundll.exe,powrprof.dll SetSuspendState did not do. It has in its parameters one that if true will DisableWakeEvent. So ,what I need is one of you experts here to tell me exactly what to type in my Scheduled Tasks Run box when setting up the task. We have two Vista computers. We keep our files on a Desktop computer and use peer to peer networking to access them from the laptop. Every once in a while, the desk top will not allow the laptop to save a file it has open. And the desktop will not shut down or restart. It will not shut down and has to be physically powered down. Once the desktop has rebooted everything returns to normal even if the document is still open on the laptop. This issue did get better with one of the updates in July, but it still happens. Any ideas? Microsoft did not have anything useful except to uninstall Anti-virus to see if that was it.

Hi, We are also facing the same problem. After trying many options, I found one solution. With this I am able to send the message in Plain Text. In the new message, there is menu option called 'Format'. When you select this it is showing two options. Rich text and Plain Text. The problem is with Rich Text. Hello group members, After installation of some software on my fresh install of Vista x86, I have trouble reading and writting to my USB flash drive efficiently: it takes me 4 minutes to see the context menu pop up when I right click a file on the flash drive, and it takes 30 seconds to response to a delete click by firing up a question dialogue box, copying a 15Mb file takes 10-15 minutes. The particular USB flash drive works blazingly fast on my other XP machine. I tried reformatting it, and it performs the same with these issues on Vista. iMac 4 Gb RAM Windows XP Pro SP3 running under Parallels I have a FAT32 external HD on the virtual side of an iMAC This drive is accessible from both the Mac and Windows side. All was well until two days ago when one single folder failed to open, producing an error message: [path] is not accessible. The handle is invalid. The folder continued to open without hesitation on the Mac side. I copied the folder to an off-drive location, deleted the original and recopied the folder back to its original location. After restarting a PC with windows XP sp3 (or sp2 as well) I login into it from another PC with remote desktop client. I get a Terminal Server shell instead of the regular one. When I click on Start button I see the "Windows Terminal Server" on the left blue bar. This behavior causes several problems for applications (msde setup failed for example). The only workaround I found is to login into the PC locally first and then to connect to it remotely. In such case I get the correct shell. Is there any resolution for the problem? Thanks.
