The Windows Vista Headlines 1.1.0 that comes with the OS is stuck on dates in June. June 22-26. I downloaded another RSS gadget that pulled those same feeds and started it up. It went back to those same dates. What could be causing this? This is odd. I "deleted it" and told Windows to restore all gadgets that came with Windows. That did not help. It pulled the same old dates. Thanks! Post Originated from http://www.VistaForums.com Vista Support Forums

Sunava Dutta here, a program manager focused on improving AJAX in the browser! Now that Internet Explorer 8 Beta 2 is out, I want to write about some of the latest rounds of enhancements we’ve made. As many of you may recall, back in March we discussed a set of developer experiences in AJAX across scenarios such as client-side cross-domain data access, local storage, and navigation state management among many others. The good news is our team has been working since Beta 1 to tweak and update our implementations based on feedback from developers (thanks for your contributions!) and ongoing updates to the W3C standards drafts on which most of these implementations are bas…

Hi guys, there used to be a zdnet keypad remapping application but I can't find it now, not that it would probably work in Vista anyway. Like millions of other users, I input data using my numeric keypad but nowdays there's no tab key at the right of the keyboard. It would be nice if I could change the function of one of my keys to become a tab key. Does anyone know if this can be done under Vista? Thanks in advance for suggestions, Jo

After a bulk delete of large number of (Retrospect Backup) files from the Recycle Bin, I noticed that the Recycled folder on each of my drive partitions, has 'disappeared. Using Windows Explorer the only 'Recycle' entry showing in the tree view is one entry for Recycle Bin at the end of the tree view. The Recycle Bin icon is still on the Desktop and a test delete of a file caused it to go to the Recycled Bin. I have checked with another PC and each of the drives has a Recycled folder showing in alphabetic sequence. Grateful for any advice on what to do. Peter. ********

Can anyone help? is there some settings i've got that wont allow me to change settings?? thanks -- beestar ------------------------------------------------------…

When we create a folder using the file manager in Word 2003 on a vista box and save it on a server 2003 drive, we cannot rename, delete, or change the folder. If a folder is created in windows explorer on the same computer, the security settings for that directory apply correctly.

I'm in the process of writing an FTP script in SQL but while I am doing this I am testing my commands directly in the Command Prompt. When I attempt to run an mput or put command for my file I get a FTP Error: 501 Specified Object Name Too Long, limit is 10 Characters. Does anyone know how can I FTP files that have a file name of more than 10 characters? These files are 12 characters long and I don't have any way around that. TIA!
