I am looking to have windowsXp explorer automatically changing the color of the folder icon if no files exist in the folder. I have seen tricks to change the color manually, but that is just not what I am looking for.

I have a graphics folder where I have many sub folders dividing my graphics into categories. It's all very nice and organized. However, I also have a folder that has the same subfolders dividing the same graphics. If I delete one set of graphic folders the other one also gets deleted and the same happens if I delete just one graphic. I can't figure out if I'm actually using double space - there's nothing that tells me one is a shortcut (although shortcuts don't delete originals). Oh... and one of the folders has folder upon folder upon folder before you get to the actual grahpics. How do I get rid of this? wiersma7

*Photo Gallery Problem - Saving* I have been looking for any information anyone may have on the following error message: "*-Changes to this picture can not be saved because Photo Gallery has experienced a problem" -* This happens after opening any and ALL pictures in Windows Photo Gallery, making any changes (crop, reduce red eye etc) then letting it "auto-save" (as there is no save option). It's almost as if the pictures are read only (I have checked - they're not). I've exhausted all known avenues to me....if anybody has a fix ...please let me know thanks Trevor Vista Home Premium 32bit -- trevorld

Hi I am trying to achieve something very specific using RDP. I have 2 windows XP systems. System 1 is currently in a session and System 2 RDPs into System1. This is the simple part. Can I detect from a running application on System 1 that I am about to be logged off because System 2 is requesting a connection. I need to detect it before the session is closed and moved to system 2. I tried all the WTS_SESSION_CHANGE messages and its already too late the system has already been locked or logged off. Thanks for any ideas, Marc -- ....

I'm struggling with setting up a VPN connection on a laptop. For some reason, it wants to default to the modem and not use the nic, even when I'm specifically setting up otherwise. The wizard seems to have a mind of its own. I've also tried it within the internet connection preferences. What should I do next?

Hi, We have problems with scheduled tasks failing on windows 2000. A reboot solves this but we cannot get to the bottom of the problem. It's Sp4 and there's no Human Interface Devices service. I've tried making jobs with the AT command, assigning runas service and bath permissions and pretty much worked through a lot of search results. It seems to be about every 7 days it fails. Can anyone shed light on this? There is nothing in event logs (app and system). Task log attached, job names aren't actually xxxxxxxxxx lol. If you are reading this article then you have probably come to the point where your computer has started to show declined performances and possibly become less functional. Unfortunately this will happen to almost every PC user who uses their computer frequently and changes software and hardware over time. There really is nothing more annoying than having a problematic computer which restricts your ability to work or play games and most of the time these problems arise as a result of registry errors. The registry is a database which stores all important information regarding software and hardware related setting in the form of keys. As time passes and your pc beco…

Hi, We're experiencing symptom 3, Message 2 in the knowledge base article with some of our servers and were wondering if there's a fix that's going to be released. While the text of the KB advises its going to be in the next service pack, the fix wasn't credited as being in 3.5 SP1 as per http://support.microsoft.com/kb/951847. Can someone from MS please advise if it is included, but not credited otherwise we'll have to work with MS support to get the hotfix talked about in the original KB article. Cheers, Kieran

Let's say I have this folder group on my desktop: Top Folder ---->Second Level and in Second Level, I have File.txt, so it's Top Folder ----->First Folder ----------->File.txt Now, I also have another folder on my desktop ----->First Folder ----------->File.txt I wanted to move the second set into Top, overwriting anything there. So I dragged the 2nd First Folder, and dropped it on Top. I get the message asking whether I want to replace files etc., and I answer "Yes, replace everything." It moves File.txt and overwrites the first copy. But it leaves the second "First Folder" now empty, on the desktop. Shouldn't it have…

I may have read one too many threads today, but I have not found a solution to: When I run WindowsExplorer (.exe), the My Documents folder is always displayed 'opened' (with all of the subfolders displayed).
