There were so many theories on why Microsoft has chosen the number 7 in the next Windows Vista. Mike Nash quickly posted his explanation — Why 7? You might try this. Go to the main Windows Update window and click on "Installed Updates" (on the left-hand side of the window, at the bottom), and then remove "Update for Microsoft Windows (KB931099)" (only). Reboot. Reboot again. Go back to Windows Update, and re-install the same update, by clicking on the Check for Updates button. Other folks may have additional ideas for you hope this helps a bit, see if that helps. I hope this post is helpful. Let us know how it works ºut. Good luck Ǝøçεl -=- "unknown" wrote: >

I have had BSOD crashes which reported a DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE. Also, my Shadow Protect backup program would crash and never complete. I found a Microsoft KB that said to check for unsigned files, using sigverif.exe, supplied with Vista Ultimate 64. At the top of the list was rivatuner64.sys v.2.04 9/25/07. I uninstalled it and, so far, haven't had any more crashes. Further, for the first time in about two months, I have been able to run my Shadow Protect program and have it complete successfully. The KB indicated that programs are supposed to respond to OS signals when it goes into hibernate, but that some unsigned programs are not equipped t…
