One of the video files included with DreamScene shows the generic thumbnail (hot-air balloons). I've deleted the thumbnails cache, and rebuilt the thumbnails. All the other DreamScene video files display a content thumbnail, but this one (vid9898.mpg) never displays one. I've read in other forums that users have encountered problems with Vista displaying thumbnails for the DreamScene video files, but have yet to find a solution. Any ideas? -- Michael

Mr. Stanley, this message might be to old for an answer, but will try anyway. You ask me about the downloading of an iso of the already streamed version of Vista w/. SP1 from Microsoft. Well, yes is available, if you are a subscriber to MSTech Net. I have one, from my son, which is a subscriber Cheers -- R. E. Creagh, MD FACS Heartburn Centre Des Moines HEARTBURN?? WHY??!! Really ? What is better ? Define it. What exactly does better mean ? Does it mean you can type faster in Windows ? Does it mean you have better English skills or reading comprehension ? I'm thinking better here means jack/squat in reality. There are things you may not be able to do because of a lack of a s/w package that won't run under Linux/Wine, but that's about it. Oh yeah, you …

Hello: I was having a similar problem with Vista-32 and so I ended up downloading the original Tool from Microsoft directly, and was able to install it successfully. The Windows Update help was no help. Hope it works for Xp, but I haven't tried it yet with an Xp boot. I'm new to both the wireless thing and to Vista, so bear with me (I'm helping a friend set up her new laptop). Basically, I want to force a laptop to wait for the user to manually connect to a network, either LAN or wireless, or at least to ASK before connecting. I got the password (security key) to a neighbor's network, call it Fred, and got the connection going. The problem is that now every time I start the computer (or at least log onto an account?) it logs on to this network (and everyone starts calling home). OK, I got it set up from the Windows Mobility Center so that the computer boots up with the wireless network adapter off (good for power …

I have a Proliant DL380 G4 with 4 72.8 GB drives in it. I added 2 more drives and expanded the array. In the HP array configuration, I have 164705 MB of unused space but don't see this in disk management. When trying to use diskpart in normal mode, I get error message the specified disk have less than 1 MB of free space available. The volume I chose has 34 GB of free space while the other volume (not chosen) has 11 GB free. How can I get diskpart to work?

OS: Win 2003 Faxboard: Diva Analog-4 (4 ports) If I receive a fax it takes almost a whole minute (58 seconds) before I can receive the next fax, the line does not pick up calls during that time. If I start a CAPI application the line is always free if no fax is being received. My configuration does not allow any outgoing faxes on that two involved lines, so this can not be a reason for this problem. Is there such a built in delay in Microsoft fax? Thank you for your time Oliver

Hi. I'm trying to connect to a remote computer in C++, using `IWbemLocator::ConnectServer` method. The hosting process has no permissions to connect, but the current thread is impersonated to a powerful user. The call fails (error code is 0x80070005). In the Security Event Log of the remote machine I can find the authentication request, and the username is the process' user (not the impersonatd user). I've tried to create a new process (Using CreateProcessAsUser), and then all works. It's not good enough because I must do it in the current process. It looks like the problem is in the underlying DCOM layer. Can someone help?
