In Windows Vista Home Premium, when I click on the yellow star in Internet Explorer 7, I see all of my favorites folders, each full of my favorite websites. When I try to save a new website to my favorites, one particular folder is never visible. It did the same thing when I had Windows XP. -- Hank333

Hi, I've searched through these forums & google to find a solution to fix this problem, but nothing has worked so far. I've even found this thread (-http://www.vistax64.com/general-discussion/166114-gadgets-will-not-install-sidebar.html-) which I thought might fix it, but after trying the solution it offered my problem was still there... Steps I've tried: - I've tried installing straight from the Microsoft website using IE & Firefox. - I've tried saving to a folder on my PC, then double clicking on the downloaded file to install. - I've tried right clicking on the downloaded file & unblocking it (-as per the link i posted above-) to install. …

Hi! We have some legacy code that uses OLE DB to connect to a SQL server. After migrating to Windows Server 2008, the code stopped working. The error we are seeing is 80040E4D, "Invalid authorization specification". Below is the VBScript that we use to reproduce the error. This script runs without problems on Server 2003 and XP computers but fails on any 2008 box. Any help is appreciated! dim sConnection sConnection = "Provider=SQLOLEDB.1Data Source=******Database=*****UID=*****PWD=*****" dim cnExecute Set cnExecute = CreateObject("ADODB.Connection") cnExecute.Open sConnection dim rs Set rs = CreateObject("ADODB.Recordset") rs.ActiveConnection = cnExe…

Hello all, I'm running Hyper-V on Server 2008 Enterprise 64-bit edition. I've got a VBScript that opens up a virtual disk (.vhd file) on the Server 2008 system, modifies a file stored within the virtual disk, and then unmounts the .VHD file. This script works providing I "Run as Administrator" - any other account, regardless of whether it's a member of the local Administrators group or not, cannot run the script without it erroring out on mounting the ..VHD. Stepping through the script, I've noticed that Windows sees the .VHD and attempts to add it to the system, and the Driver Software Installation dialog reports that it was added successfully. H…

I added an Enterprise CA to a domain controller. When accessing the IIS interface, we request a certificate using the Advanced Certificate Request option. Then we select the Create & submit a request to this CA. On the request page only 2 templates are available: Basic EFS & User. I opened the Certificate Templates in an MMC & saw many more certificates, including Computer, which I want to use. I don't understand why these templates are unavailable at run time. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Using Windows XP Pro Backup: I have "My Documents" scheduled to backup to a network drive daily at lunch time. Sometimes when I return from lunch, the backup is waiting for a response to "insert the following media", however there is nothing to insert the system is already connected to the network. I simply click OK, and it runs. Why can't it sometimes connect? I am hard-wired to the network using a laptop in a docking station. Thanks in advance, Dorci
