Piotr, If this is a relatively recent problem, try using System Restore back to a date when the computer ran properly. But before doing this, remember to disable any antivirus application which, like Norton, has a setting intended to inhibit attackers of that program itself. If this works for you let us know. I had to do a new installation of XP, i installed the wireless adapter to pick up my internet (6) and i can see the wireless network, but i noticed that it said 'connected to wireless but cannot find the internet' - (APIPA) given. Released/Renewed IP but would not renew. Disconnected Wireless USB, put back in and it found the internet for one minute then lost it again. Have tried everything with DNS, checked the router settings for MAC filtering etc to no avail. Have not encountered this before. NB It is XP SP1 / IE6, havent been able to install SP2 yet. Does anybody have any idea what it could be Many thanks

littlebull_25 I have encountered the same problem so did searching until i came up with a possible answer. I found that microsaoft are trying out a new screen called silverlight and they said that we may have problems with trying to update our computers. who knows why they have done this to us and they have'nt provided an answer to what we can do about it. so i am going to ask a computer technician and hopefully get back to you asap. hope you can do same and then publish on this web. cheers -- trish "littlebull_25" wrote: > I keep getting stuck on the page where the green scanner is and never get to > the updates page, even if I turn aut…

At several TS installations I have the same problem. When a user sets a default printer in their Terminal Server session, it does not remain set as their default printer after they have logged off and logged back on. Any thoughts on how to make that stay? Thanks, --David

Gurus, Running Windows XP Pro SP3 on a Sony Vaio laptop. Don't know what I've recently changed on my system but it's running fine except for one little problem - when I press the undock button on the docking station or try to undock it via the Start Menu nothing happens. It used to present a nice little dialog box saying undock is complete but now it doesn't do this anymore. Thoughts? -- Spin

Hi folks, I apologize if this is the wrong forum but I have an unusual issue that only occurs on our TS servers, it does not happen on our client workstations. We are running 2 Citrix PS 4.0 servers on Windows Server 2003 SP1. What is happening is every 1-2 days the Internet Explorer settings get changed so that Outlook Express is the default mail client instead of Outlook. Our end users then run into problems when trying to send e-mail from within MS Office and other programs. We have a very limited group of users (6) who have the ability to even view the IE Programs tab, let along change it. I have spoken with all of them and they assure me the…
