Hello, When connected to the internal network, our users receive a proxy server configuration for internet browsing through our ISA/Surfcontrol server. Works great. When they dial-in (yes, we still have some dial-in users!), they get an IP address and can access our servers with no problem... BUT, they can also directly access the internet without routing through our ISA/Surfcontrol server. How do I force their Web browser traffic through our ISA server? I created a static route 0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0 -> ISA Server IP Address... but that didn't work either? troy

Has anyone ever set up Emacs to work with Python in Vista64? I've installed Python to the default C:\Python26 and Emacs is currently residing in C:\Emacs. Python mode (in emacs) works fine when opening .py files but whenever I try to start the interpreter I get this error: > apply: Searching for program: no such file or directory, pythonI've been trying to find a fix for this for the past hour and I can't figure out what the hell is going on. -- Tomed

Seems when I run IE 7 Protected Mode is off according to the status bar. But, since installing new Anti-Virus and Firewall software I get a warning when opening IE, from I believe is IE, that Protected Mode is off. I wasn't getting this message before. Does Protected Mode need to be on? Why wasn't I getting a warning before? Thanks, James

I have a HP server with four 500GB hard drives. I completely re-did the arrays we would have two arrays: 1. two hard drives are raid 1+0: 100GB is partitioned as C drive and the other 400+GB is partitioned as E drive 2. two hard drives are raid 0 and partitioned as F drive When file comparing two files on the F drives, it works, regardless of the file size. When I do it on C or E, the file compare works for file size under 1GB, but fails if it's over 1GB. We had this problem with the previous install of the OS. We've replaced several hardware stuff like CPU, memory, controller. We even did hard drive diagnostics and didn't find any issues. what…

Hi. Our Win XP PCs print to the IP [address] port of our network printers, but in order to create a new port locally and add a printer, the user requires admin rights [which most don't have]. Therefore we have to log them out and then we log in. Is there such thing as a MSC applet for printers? This way I can either go in remotely (as most MSC applets allow) or at the PC changing the MMC authority to the local admin. Thanks

October 28, 2008 Hi, I am also having this problem on a fresh install of Windows XP Professional. I have managed to install SP3 successfully, as well as Office updates via the Office website. Does the fact that I have a 64 bit CPU have anything to do with these update issues? I have tried doing manual updates via windowsupdates.microsoft.com as well as using automatic updates. I followed the steps below and was still unable to perform the updates. Hi, I have a Win2003 Small Business Server, and want to restore a set of 2 tapes with only the firts tape (the 2nd is missing). When I try to catalog the 1st tape, at the end appears a message telling me than insert the next tape. After I press "cancel" no catalog (partially) was restore. Does any one knows how to restore a partially catalog to recover some information from the tape? I think it could be possible becase in NT4, ntbackup has /missingtape switch that makes to read the catalog from the available tapes from the set. In Win2K Srv that switch does not exist, but works as is. (Document ID : 244805: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/244805/…

Several of my software applications have Related Topic buttons. To use an example, the HELP files, at the top of the subject matter will have links for Examples, See Also, etc. The purpose, you click on the related topic button and see additional information. All of my applications that have this feature are NOT showing the Related Topic link. They show a little square box (similar to an html page when a graphic is not there). At first I thought it was the application but when I see many of the applications doing this, I figure it must be the Windows environment causing the problem. Anyone have any idea? -- Thank You, Sam

I am using Windows Server 2003. I really like the recently used programs section of the Start Menu, but I notice that certain Microsoft applications do not appear as they should. My understanding is that as the more an application is used, the higher it appears on the list. I use Microsoft Visual Source Safe and Microsoft Visual Source Safe Administrator quite often, but Administrator keeps dropping off the list. I have even removed items from the bottom of the list until it appears again, but then it disappears the next time I look for it. I also have determined that HTML Help Image Editor NEVER appears on the recently used program list. Never. I have re…
