Since the release of Internet Explorer 8 beta 2, we’ve listened, watched and learned a lot about how people use the new features and our focus has been to refine them for RC1 (the Release Candidate). This post will give you an overview of the end user changes we’ve made which we’ll discuss in detail over the coming weeks. In IE8 we made a big push to make sure you can easily get to the sites and use the services you care about. If you’re anything like us, you visit a lot of websites and use a lot of different services or, maybe you’re not like us, and you might have a set of favorites that you stick to. Either way, IE8’s features work together to stream…

This is one of my favorite times in the product cycle. IE8 is platform complete and as we get closer to releasing the final product, more and more web developers and designers will take advantage of the browser’s features to enable scenarios we haven’t even imagined! Since the release of IE8 Beta 2 we’ve listened to feedback from many channels including IE8 Beta Feedback, standards working groups and this blog. We’ve made thousands of platform improvements in response to both feedback, and from running the test cases that Jason Upton blogged about on Tuesday. The platform is ready to be built on. I want to give you an overview of web platform improvements sinc…

Hello, We have a number of BizTalk & SQL servers. Both have certificates for encryption/signing within the BizTalk enviroment. I'm developing an Access database to track the certificates. Is there a way to use VBScript to pull all the information (displayed on the details tab of a certificate) shown in the Certificate Manager MMC? I can either respond to a prompt for a specific remote server, or simply supply all the server names in a file. I have an Access table with a column for each of the fields in the certificate details. It would be too time-consuming to do this manually. Any help or references to other sources of info is greatly apprec…

I've set up Vista Business on a notebook used within an Active Directory domain.with a domain user account as the main login user. I added the domain administrator account to the local Administrators group so I would not have to type in this information every time UAC comes up. This solution works for me since I am in IT per se, but is there another better way to set up UAC such that I don't require the domain admin account, but the local hidden Administrator account or even a second local account with local domain admin rights?? (I do this on Ultimate boxes at home.) In short, my question is how to make UAC as easy and simple as possible …
