  1. Microsoft posted for download on February 27 of an update to its App-V virtualization product that is designed to work with the Windows 7 Beta. App-V is based on the SoftGrid technology Microsoft acquired in early 2006 when it bought Softricity. App-V lets users run applications without actually installing them on a local machine.     After the overwhelming response to Windows 7 and requests for features from users, Microsoft has finally released the feature list of the Windows 7 Release Candidate. This release candidate of Windows 7 is expected to arrive on April 10, 2009, as per Ars Technica. In all, Microsoft's senior program manager, Chaitanya Sareen, outlined 36 changes in the Windows 7 release candidate. Minor changes will give users more control than what they had in the Windows 7 beta.     I need to have my users reset their passwords in 14 days. I would like for the users to receive a notice when they login that their password will expire in 14 days. I have tried using group policy to try and make this happen. However I have not been successful in getting the GPO to enforce. This is in a Windows Server 2003 standard domain. Can you send me a knowledge base article on how to make this happen? Thanks Jim

    Hi. I downloaded, installed, and configured the 120-day evaluation copy of WHS. Purchased a copy from Microsoft. Tried to enter the authentication code, and it simply fails. I call in on the phone, and that operation fails. What's up? (I've tried multiple times, for several days. The computer is connected to the Internet, has connectivity, yet when I click the link on the activation page to go to the online site, it takes me to a page that doesn't exist (that is, it's a broken link).I'm sure the copy I have on the computer is a little more recent than the copy I got from Microsoft (later SPs and stuff).
