by Guest Neil Jones- 0 replies

I have used Mantech's mdd_1.3 and win32dd to capture RAM on my laptop. The output file sizes are different. In real world, how do we decide which tools to use to capture volatile memory? In my test case now, I don't know which tool I should rely on. One other question, what tools are used to analyze volatile images? NJ

Kaikkein keskeisintä demokratian mukaisen kansalaisvastustuksen tallaamisen päälle on täysin keskustelemattomuuksiin jäänyt fakta, miksi …

Arstechnica’s Emil has posted a weekly roundup from their posts on Microsoft, Windows 7 and IE8. Where’s Vista in the title? As the trend goes, it seems that reports are now focused on Windows 7 instead of Windows Vista which is something Microsoft likes given the bad impression the software has regardless of how good [...] More...

Even though the EULA accompanying the beta build of Windows 7 prohibits the publication of benchmark results (good luck enforcing that one, Redmond), everybody and their dog will still compare the Windows 7 beta to Vista and Windows XP. Adrian Kingsley-Hughes is one of those benchmarking the beta, and according to his results, the Windows 7 beta beats both Vista and XP in just about every scenario. Instead of running Crysis or benchmark suites, Kingsley-Hughes decided to go a different route and perform 23 common tasks on each of the three Windows versions (all 32bit), and then simply mark the winner, the runner-up, and number three. He performed the same 2…

I am currently in the process of setting up two identical 2008 terminal servers in our corporate network. One will be the primary server where up to 60 users (currently 20) will use Wyse S10 thin clients to be provided with a remote desktop experience. The other server is simply a mirrored backup in case of primary server failure. I have set up failover clustering, DFS replication, and Terminal services on both machines. I have installed an identical set of application for users to use as well. Both machines are IBM system x3650 with 32gb ram and 6 1TB drives (configured as 1 raid 0 1tb system drive and 1 raid 5 4tb storage drive). I plan to publish a few apps w…

happy new year friends, i just formatted my comp & before i did i ran scans with spy-bot, win Onecare & McAfee just to make sure i had no infections. I also made sure i updated all antispyware & virus app & then did my scans whilst i was disconnected from the net. After i reinstalled, i installed Acronis Image Home11, which B4 i have installed with no prob's, but this time i decided to installed Acronis for my user only but when i installed the app it did not appear nowhere, so i decided to check my setting and found that i had two ntuser.DAT files. i know ntuser is an important file and shouldn't be deleted, but what if i only have one user on my…
