Before starting make sure you are logged on as an Administrator. Then follow these steps: 1. First, turn off thumbnail creation by opening Windows Explorer, clicking the Organize button and selecting Folder and Search Options. Click on the View tab and check Always show icons, never thumbnails. Click the OK button. 2.Then, run Disk Cleanup on Drive C: and empty the cache so you can recover the disk space. You can find it in Accessories/System Tools. 3.In Windows Explorer, navigate to the AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows folder under your name. How we used user research data to help design Compatibility View
by Guest NewsBot- 0 replies
There have already been a few posts on Compatibility View in Internet Explorer 8 (here, here, here, here, here, and here), but none have gone into detail about the user research data we used to help design this feature. We collected data on Compatibility View throughout the IE8 beta releases and have made multiple decisions about its design based on our data from lab studies, field studies, instrumentation, and community feedback. What I’d like to do is go through some common questions we’ve received about the user experience of Compatibility View, and explain how user data has influenced our decisions. Hopefully, this will give you some insight into our design proces…

I was having issues with WMIPRVSE.exe consuming up to 40% of my CPU and slowing my system down. Through google I managed to determine that this was caused by The Windows System Resource Manager, and if I stop this service then my CPU usage returns to a more acceptible state. Now clearly I don't want to leave this service disabled as it is of course meant to manage my system resources, not use them all up, so I would prefer to fix the problem. I do not have SBS installed, nor any items stuck in the print spool, so that voids almost all the suggestions I found on google. Anyone got any suggestions how to resolve this ?

Can anyone tell me why I have to reregister these DLL's and if there's anything I can do to prevent the situation from occurring again? Thanks

Automatic resorting of items in WinExplorer

Enable LIST view in WinExplorer, now this problem: No way to turn autoresorting off. In WinXP newly added files were sitting at bottom UNTIL you refresh (F5 or click folder again), you knew where to expect things. Now if you download 50 small RAR files, for EXAMPLE, you don't know what's going on because they're quickly ushered to random locations within folder as they're being resorted alphabetically. I WANT MY STUFF TO STAY WHERE IT WAS PLACED LIKE IN WINDOWSXP, and you idiot who designed this "improvement" in Vista over XP, you shoul dget a medal for alienating many customers from this rubbish. Make it same way in WIndows7 and I swear you'll suff…
