Sleep and Photos screensaver
by Guest Delboy- 0 replies

I seem to recall many moons ago, reading here that if there were "too many" images in the designated folder in Photos screen saver, the computer failed to turn off display and sleep. Is this still the case? I had Ribbons as my saver, Wait = 10 minutes, Turn off display = 20 min, Sleep = 30 min. Worked perfectly. Change to Photos, designated folder C:\Users\User Name\Pictures\, same Power settings Wait OK, no turn off display, no sleep. Any gurus out there any ideas? any "missed" updates? any other settings apart from the obvious in Control Panel - Personalization? Vista Home Prem, SP2, all other updates except IE8. -- Delboy A common mistake …

First I would like to thank those who helped so far in my problem in a privous post. Now onto the problem. I have a DVD drive that works in other machines but not in this one! It plays DVD movies, but not DVD games, the drive keeps saying the drive is empty? The games are Vista compatiable and work in other machines also running Vista and XP. The drive has been tried in other machines are works fine. The issue is only with DVD games. CD games and music etc work fine too. So the issue is with DVD games only. Re: favorite links empty
by Guest Poly.Morphism- 0 replies

Hi, In my case, I have the "IsShortcut" registry value in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\lnkfile, but the Favorite Links still doesn't work (it shows "Empty" and I can't drag drop any thing into it). Then I found *the reason is because I once deleted the Links folder in C:\Users\MyUserName\*. So, after I created a new Links folder under this directory, the Favorite Links works again! And, to put a shortcut in Favorite Links, someone can just create a new shortcut in the Links folder other than drag drop the shortcut into the pane. style_emoticons//smile.gif -- Poly.Morphism Posted via http://www.vistaheads.com
