IE Compatibility List Pruning
by Guest NewsBot- 0 replies

Hi, I am Michael Benny, a tester on networking in Internet Explorer. During the Internet Explorer 8 development cycle I was responsible for verifying many of the pieces of Compatibility View. We have discussed earlier about how the Compatibility View feature works and the steps a site author can take to ensure the Compatibility View button never displays for IE8 users visiting your site. There is another scenario that we have not yet covered, if my site was already added by an End-user to their Compatibility View list before my site was updated, and now it’s ready, how would I get the site off of that user’s list? I wanted to share one particular feature that we haven…

ALL: The cause of this error seems to be associated with the AUDIO hardware drivers accelerator features and a bug in WIN XP. Try disabling your acceleration settings on your audio hardware, see if this doesn't stop the errors for any older games you are trying to play.style_emoticons//smile.gif

I decided to try Windows 2008 R2 with Failover clustering and Hyper-V. On "paper" everything looks very promissing. In reality a had problems with slow disk performance. The servers i used for this are 2 IBM xSeries 3550, with 16GB of RAM memory, 2 CPU Xeon 5110 and QLogic FC adapters QLE2460 that are connected to IBM storage 4800 with 15k rpm disks. I have virtualized 2 XenApp servers with approximatelly 50 users and I have about 12 published applications on both servers in a farm. I've created Clustered Shared Volume. Live migration is working but not quite as I expected. While the VM is migrating from one node in a cluster to another there is downtime (no ping)…

Re: Can't open .pps file attachments from Windows Mail

Ok Guys, I suffered with this problem for several days and tried every suggestion mentioned here to get my PPS files to work and nothing worked! BUT I did eventually get it working! The solution for me was to install Power Point Viewer 97! Yep, 97!! I uninstalled PPViewer 2003 and 2007 first although that may not be necessary. As soon as I got PPViewer 97 installed, it worked! -- BKosher2

by Guest Mary- 0 replies

A strange problem in Vista. IE8 and Firefox lose the ability to access any web pages as if I have lost my internet connection. The strange thing is Outlook and other applications that go online still work fine. I have upgraded to SP2 but the problem is still there. If I reboot it works fine again until next time. This usually happens about twice a day. Any help appreciated

Vista SP2 Stopped my Card Reader Working

I am running Vista Ultimate 32bit - after installing SP2 my 15 in 1 card reader stopped working. Its drives do not appear in my computer. If I run disk management it can see the slots but can't allocate them a letter. If I look in hardware devices there is a list of storage volumes that can't start (code 10). If I boot the computer with a card in the slot, the slot the card is in shows up but none of the others do. If I uninstall SP2 all is well and the slots appear again. Any ideas?
