Usually this problem is fixed by setting Mail program as the default, however when I try that on my Vista 64 Sony Viao, it wil not display the custom or default settings, insrtead giving error 80070483  Ive looked that up and according to a MS author, that should go away by closing the Microsoft app havings its setting displayed, but that does not work for me. Of interest is that this problem followed me from my WinXP Compaq over the File and Settings transfer wizard -- sdyer

I use a desktop & laptop (both XP-HE) and I have shared files/printer between them for several years using a wired/wireless router. In July I lost the ability to share between them, though both can connect to the internet through the router/network. When I Explore the desktop's Network folders, it can be seen with its shared files in the established workgroup - the laptop is not visible When I Explore the laptop's Network folders I see the established workgroup, but nothing shows up in the workgroup and I get the " is not accessible. You might not have permission ... " error message. Note: while it may be just coincidence this problem occurred co…

While checking things in Msconfig, I noticed an entry in the Win.ini tab that I'd like to know about. Under the"temp" section, there is a sub-entry that says part=17085 . Both the "temp" section and the sub-entry have check marks as if they were active. Can someone set my suspicious mind at ease... jc

I heard this on the Clark Howard consumer radio program yesterday. He had been directed by a friend to visit www.tag.com for some common interest with pictures. He eventually found it was loaded with potential infections and mis-use of advertising that led to phone calls, unsolicited mail and charges against some account. It would also grab his address book. Apparently, he acted quickly enough to thwart most of it, but maybe his web site or his next program, radio or CNN (Sunday morning) may update people on it.

G'Day All, In Windows XP one could choose not to display 'Administrator' on the Welcome Screen. One then used CTRL+ALT+DEL to manually enter that user's name when needed. Can this be done in Vista/Win 7 - i.e. with the 'Administrator' a/c enabled, can it NOT be displayed? -- Regards, Pat Garard Melbourne, Australia _______________________

I've seen this same issue posted by others across the internet, but I have yet to find a solution posted for it. I lock my system when I walk away and when I go to unlock it and enter my password, their is a 60 second delay until the desktop is redrawn. I can move my mouse, and my programs continue to run since I can hear audio players still playing, but I have to wait to do anything. Any ideas on how this happens and where to look for a fix? It happens even when I first boot up and do no start any programs, but simply attempt to lock/unlock the session.
