Recently, when I put in a new contact, there is always one specific email address that pops up when I get ready to put in the new email address in:mad:. I have to delete the "offending" email addresses (there are four places where it pops up in the contact page, ie, windows live, personal email, etc.) and put in the new one. Yet if I backtrack, it will always re-pop up with the bad offending email address again and again and again. How do I get rid of this offending email address without getting rid of the offender itself? -- gerrieaustin

I have googled this problem and everytime I found websites talking about USN rollbacks for windows server 2003 but nothing for 2008. We have a server that runs Vmware ESX and as a virtual machine, we're running Windows server 2008 as a domain controller (without FSMO roles) and have Exchange 2007 installed. Everytime this server starts, the netlogon service is started paused. The company that is installing this server says that it's not a big deal and that it won't cause any issues but I wanted to double check with you guys to get a second oppinion.

When using Internet Explorer, I often like to use the up or down arrow keys on the keyboard for scrolling up and down on the screen rather than using the scroll wheel. One push of the arrow key causes the screen scroll more than I would like (about twice as much). It is not a matter of key repeat rate. The screen just moves too much with a single press before the repeat even kicks in. I looked for a way to adjust this but was unsuccessful. I did find how you can adjust the initial delay and repeat rate, but those things do not affect the amount that the screen moves up or down when you press an arrow key. I also tried making adjustments to the scroll wheel…

I didn't know where to post this question, since I can't find a Search-specific newsgroup. If this should be posted to another group, please let me know. I am looking at the Enterprise Search Server Express solution to index my Windows file server and Exchange 2003 public folders. I am also looking at the new Desktop Search 4.0. Can anyone tell me if these two solutions will work together? In other words, can Desktop Search be pointed to the Enterprise Search's catalog? Any thoughts on these to products would be appreciated. Thanks, Joe

Hello A question about TSE security and acces from a RDP connection. I have just installed TSE 2008 on a Windows Standard 2008. This one is member of my AD. RDP acces (via MSTSC) is open for some pepole of my company. But I have only one server for TSE acces in my local network. I have made a port redirection on the firewall. TSE is listening on a high port. I can't install an another server to realize a TSE Gateway with HTTPS. It is too expansive for us. So can I consider this configuration as sufficient to open acces from Internet. : My configuration is : - TSE is listening on a hight port. for example 4625. - The user authentication is based …

  18. Microsoft is looking into a zero-day vulnerability today, which reportedly affects systems running Windows Vista and 7. Researcher Laurent Gaffie said that a hacker could exploit the flaw on Windows 7 to cause a critical system error. The flaw lies in a Server Message Block 2 (SMB2) driver. Gaffie said in a blog post yesterday, "SRV2.SYS fails to handle malformed SMB headers for the NEGOTIATE PROTOCOL REQUEST functionality." People who have commented on his blog post are reporting that the exploit can not only lead to denial of service, but also remote code execution. Gaffie has contacted Microsoft, and it has since responded by saying that it is investigating the…
