Yes you can have the quick launch toolbar with just a few steps > Right click the taskbar, go to Toolbar -> New Toolbar and type %UserProfile%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch into the folder box, then click Select Folder. To make it look like it would in Windows Vista, right click the taskbar, uncheck “Lock the Taskbar”, then right click the divider and uncheck “Show Title” and “Show Text”. Then right click the taskbar and check “Show Small Icons” and your done :) Tip: Copy & Paste the Blue text .

QWinApt for Windows Vista
by Guest NewsBot- 0 replies

I have written yesterday about AppSnap, and today let’s look at another Windows Packager called QWinApt which only works on Windows Vista. According to the author he wrote this application in C# and .NET 2.0 because he couldn’t find an application similar to Ubuntu’s install/uninstall feature. As with Ubuntu’s application, QWinApt loads data from DB [...]Post from: Windows Vista Weblog More...

May I ask you to tell me what's the right group to search for help about this situation please? Windows Server 2003, used for development, at office under authenticated http proxy. Network/proxy is put down each night, form 22:00 to 7:00 (more or less). I tested Teamviewer to access and control this pc over the internet without problems, if left switched on and authenticated. problems: - if left switched on when the proxy/network goes down at evening, then all proxy authentications have to be done again, only way to avoid this is to hibernate the pc before the net goes down, and switch it on when it's up - teamviewer is not free on server systems …

I just love this feature in Windows 7, it offers a unique way to minimise all the open windows on your screen while leaving one up and open that you want to work with. All you need to do is place your cursor on the window frame you want to keep up and open and just shake with your mouse all the other windows you have open collapse, to reopen them do the same ... just shake :D

The Aero Glass effect in Windows 7 looks great but on some computers that have underpowered video adaptors users will see a performance drop when running Aero Glass effect. Animations are slow and choppy and moving windows around on your screen is not very smooth. One way to speed up Windows 7 and keep the benefits of Aero, like animations, flip 3D and taskbar thumbnails, is to disable glass transparency > 1. Rgt Click on the desktop and select Personalize. 2. Click Windows Color. 3. Uncheck Enable Transparency. 4. Click Save changes. Click on image to enlarge .

Offline Folders & Network Public Share
by Guest Dan- 0 replies

I have multiple users that connect and update data on a network share. A number of these users use laptops with Windows XP and setup offline folders on the network share so they can access the data when they're offline. The issue at hand is that other users in the office that also have access to that public share will add folders and data to the share but the laptop users with offline folders don't synchronize other users created folders or files. Is there a way to get the offline folders to synchonize other users added files and folders? Thanks for any assistance, Dan
