Hello All, Is there a way to prevent a local workstation from double prompting for credentials when adding/removing users that are on a domain for access to a share. In other words, can I change the default 'location' when specifying the user, group, or computer account. CIFS share, Windows XP clients (not on the domain) Thanks, Altria

Hi, I'm running Vista home premium. After doing the 10/13 updates my computer takes forever to startup. I've disabled most of the startup programs and when I check task manager explorer.exe is the only thing showing any activity and its 40-100 percent. The disk drive light is going like crazy. It was not like this before I did the updates. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Phil -- Phil

I was trying to connect to a printer that is shared on a computer that has Vista to another computer that also has Vista. I am using a wireless connection within my home. I have had no problems with connecting the printer to computers that have XP but I had a problem with the Vista machine. I tried adding the printer using the full name with the Add Network Printer tool and connecting using the Map Network Drive tool. I could not establish a connection as each attempt returned a remote server could not be found. The file sharing center was turned on. The only way I was able to do it was to go to Run then \\computer name\ and then navigate to the shar…

I've had that problem all month too. I've read all the messages on how to try and fix it and nothing worked. So my solution to you (is what I did yesterday) is to reinstall windows. When i updated the computer everything went good with no error or failed messages. So if you know how to reinstall your windows I think you all should do it. Lisa "Pete" wrote: > hey everybody. Gateway & proxy settings through GPO Hi all I am running Windows 2000 Server. I want to know how I could enforce all clients to change their gateway to a different IP than the existing one, and also how to disable the proxy setting in IE and dont allow users to change it. This is basically due to a new installation of a web content filter in the company. Previously we used a proxy server and now I am using a multihomed server. Your help is greatly appreciated!

I have a blank 2003 server with two 4TB RAID5 arrays. I want to be able to backup the 3 servers fully to the array then copy that backup to tape. Each week night I would like to do the same, but just a differential. I would also prefer that when the backup on the disk is trasfered to tape, it did not delete the backup on the disk until it needed to replace it the next week. Also I should be able to rest…
