Vista SP2 BitDefender Internet Security 2010 This just started happening -- whenever I click on an installer, whether it be for a game or some program, it opens very slow -- I'd say at least 30 seconds just for the "run" box to appear. Does anyone know of something that would suddenly be causing this?

I have a Windows Server 2003 SP2 machine that I can not connect to using MSTSC. All machines are on the same subnet. No other computers can connect, though this machine can connect to others. No Firewall running, Anti-Virus is ok, Services are ok, nothing in the Event logs. I did a packet capture and see the intial T125 connections, then after the SecurityExchangePDU Encrypted, I get a T125:Disconnect Provider Ultimatum, rn-user-requested. Based on this it appears my client is disconnecting however I can connect to all other machines and it seems something is wrong with this server as nothing can connect to it. Does anyone have any ideas or troubleshoo…

Hi all, I recently installed on our Terminal Server 2008, SP2. This was to fix another issue we hoped could solve, but instead of fixing the problem it gave us an extra problem. Now when users are working remotely with their remote appz, and they wanna print documents to a local printer or pdf creator the size of the print job is huge. Printing to a printer the file goes up to 11MB-13MB, which causes very huge latencies. Printing to win2PDF the size is like 4MB which normally used to be 15kb. I have seen the SP2 update has around 53 fixes about printing. But this is a real problem giving an update that causes such a huge file sizes to print rem…

We are using Windows XP and Word 2007 with Compatibility Pack. Documents saved and then reopened have the following setting checked. This is throwing off some of the documents that originate from our intranet (perhaps based on the way they are constructed.) How can we opt to have this setting turned OFF while still using Compatbility Pack. Word Options | Advanced | Compatibility options for: | Layout options | Split apart page break and paragraph mark NOTE: I would have posted this on the WORD group, but it was not there??? -- Serena

Why netsh show that it changed the advfirewall state, instead of giving an error message that it cannot? On one server (2008 x64 SP2), I issued: %systemroot%\system32.netsh.exe advfirewall set allprofiles state off %systemroot%\system32.netsh.exe advfirewall show allprofiles state and get all three states shown as off, as you normally would expect. But I had previously set Windows Firewall settings in Group Policy. And the Windows Firewall MMC, says the three firewall profiles are On. And that the administrator has configured settings etc., which is what I expect. It just doesn't match netsh advfirewall show allprofiles state. Isn't that a bug, and an …

Our print server is asking every client in the system to update their printer driver. The system is setup so the user don't have permission to install drivers manually(print management role). These drivers are instead deployed through GPO when you log on the computer. At first I thought it was because of the Universal HP driver I installed updated for one printer, but this happened to all other printers in the system as well (xerox, lexmark.etc) The issue happened a week after I installed the printer. Any suggestions on what the issue is?
