  6. Hi ! I have a backup vbscript that I use to copy a folder that I have on my system (windows server 2008) on a different server (windows server 2003). When I run it manually it works fine. I want to run it with the task scheduler every days. I created a new task that runs my vbs file. When I run it manually it only works when I choose "run only if the user is connected" in the properties of my new task. I want to run it even if no session is started on this server. I tried to lauch my vbs with a bat file and I got that : e:\backup_folfer.vbs(411, 6) Erreur d'excution Microsoft VBScript: Priphrique non disponible which means that the device is not available …

I'm trying to edit a user's profile and copy it over as the default in Server 2008 rc2. So when they log in to my Thin Clients machines it will carry over. Currently the administrative tools are being displayed in the start command, Everything else can be restricted thru GPO. These thin cleints are embedded with XP and I'm using Remote Desktop to log in to the server. When I try to copy a user as the default as done in the past. The only user it will allow me to copy as the default is the administrators. So I'm looking for a profile on my Terminal Server that will push down to my thin clients with my restrictions. Thanks in advance for any assistance...

Internet 3G that has a USB plugit portable device is becoming more and more popular primarily because of its portability and ease of use. One problem though that most users experience is sharing the internet across a number of computers. One option is opening up your wallet and spending $ 80-100 USD for a 3G router. In some places though like here in the Philippines, we need to order the 3G router in advance as most shops do not keep a 3G router in their inventory. To be able to quickly share your internet connection, below are the steps:1. I was contemplating on getting the Amazon Kindle International Wireless last night but changed my mind temporarily as I have other gadgets I am looking at, particularly Android devices. Yes I know, these are two different gadgets but I only have budget for one and not both.Anyways, going back to Kindle, Amazon is releasing a Kindle for PC that runs on Windows 7 platform which allows you to read Kindle far beyond their device. This move seems to make the Kindle format available to the masses which could help spur the sales of their Kindle. Given that Amazon has released [...]Post from: Windows Vista Weblog More...

Looks like he is going to do it. I'll bet he has never seen a woman or touched one. Poor guy. We should take up a collection and send him a latex women! Maybe he will change his mind. Friends don't let friends use Linux. Then you don't have to use it. But either way I'm going to create a little Ubuntu based distro focused on WindowMaker, just because a lot of people would use WM, but don't have the slightest inkling how to configure it. This way it will be preconfigured and ready to roll. Even if nobody ever installs it to their hard drive, it'll be a live CD so they can at least see what a well configured WM desktop i…

So there shouldn't be a Kubuntu? or Xubuntu? Anyway, I think I'm going to do it, just to spite all of you nay-sayers. I guess because I got into Linux back in the 90s WindowMaker just feels more "Linuxey" than Gnome, KDE, or XFCE. I find all of them to be too much like Windows or Mac OS. Don't get me wrong, I'm not going to be writing like 500 new pieces of software for this WMbuntu, basically just going to be using Reconstructor to create a version of Ubuntu that starts with WM instead of Gnome and is already set up with a nice Dust theme, nice icons, docker installed for systray items, etc... You guys are probably the same ones who think BeOS/Hai…

Anyone interested in WMbuntu? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Seeing as how WindowMaker is my favorite window manager I was wondering if anyone else felt the same way. I've been thinking about building and releasing my own variant of Ubuntu, possibly called WMbuntu. If I were to undertake this would anyone be interested in helping? I would mostly need people to conduct research for me into how to customize it exactly like I'm thinking. To give you an idea of what it could look like here's a recent screenshot of my WindowMaker desktop with a Dust them that I created for it. http://www.box-look.org/co…

Remember that Ubuntu is a wanna be operating system that most people reject as junk. People find out about ubuntu, download it and try it out. Once they realize that Ubuntu won't run any of the popular software programs, then Ubuntu is rejected time after time. No wonder Ubuntu is on very few computers. If you want to waste your time then please try Ubuntu but if you want to do real work with a real operating system, then you should be using Windows 7. Windows 7 is solid, fast, stab…

With Windows 7 being such a hit, Ubuntu will slide further down the gutter than it has before. Millions are using Windows 7 and within one year, 50% of businesses should be using Windows 7. So what is left for Ubuntu? Geeks and other misfits will use Ubuntu. Oh yea, the poor will also use Ubuntu.

Other fixes did not work that I tried on discussion group for this problem. This is the only one that did for my system. Vista 32 with all updates except the above. To troubleshoot the issue you will need to uninstall multiple versions of the .net framework using a .net cleanup utility, and then reinstall those versions in their correct order. To repair the .net framework follow the steps below: 1. Download .Net Cleanup Utility from the following link: http://blogs.msdn.com…
