Bulletin Severity Rating:Critical - This security update resolves two privately reported vulnerabilities in Microsoft Windows. These vulnerabilities could allow remote code execution if messages received by the Internet Authentication Service server are copied incorrectly into memory when handling PEAP authentication attempts. An attacker who successfully exploited either of these vulnerabilities could take complete control of an affected system. Servers using Internet Authentication Service are only affected when using PEAP with MS-CHAP v2 authentication. View the full article

Bulletin Severity Rating:Important - This security update resolves two privately reported vulnerabilities in Microsoft Windows. The more severe of these vulnerabilities could allow remote code execution if an attacker sent a specially crafted HTTP request to an ADFS-enabled Web server. An attacker would need to be an authenticated user in order to exploit either of these vulnerabilities. View the full article

Bulletin Severity Rating:Important - This security update resolves a privately reported vulnerability in Microsoft Windows. In previous versions of windows, moving a folder (with many subfolders/files) to a different path on the same drive would simply update the location of the folder in the file table and not require any action or calculation on what was actually in the folder. When I perform this on windows server 2008, it first calculates the size of everything in the folder, then performs the move and this can take quite a long time for folders with lots of content. Does anyone know if this is expected behavior and/or if there is a fix?

Windows 7 is seeing success in the marketplace which I am very happy about from a security perspective. The Microsoft Security Intelligence Report has shown us again and again that the more up-to-date a PC is, the less likely it is to be infected by malware and other potentially dangerous software. So Windows 7 making strides is helpful to the ecosystem overall from a security standpoint. Success comes at a price though, through greater scrutiny and misinterpretation of some of the technologies. One of those technologies is BitLocker. I've seen numerous claims the past few weeks about weaknesses in BitLocker and even claims of commercial software that "breaks" BitL…

Hello guys, figured you guys would be able to provide me with the information I need. This is the first time I am setting up a server, so everything is a bit new to me still. This is the situation: we have a small office with three computers, and I figured we could set up a server using some old hardware (for lulz, basically). This office is situated in a big building with many offices and computers, and there is one internet connection for the whole thing, which means we until now had different static IP's for all computers in the office. Here is my plan: instead of all of our computers connecting directly to the internet and the house network, only the server woul…
