Hello, i have an HP Proliant DL380 G3 running server 2008. Now my question is, once every so long after the system has been running for atleast a week or so with no problems what so ever, it just freezes for no reason. the only way i know is because everything goes away and even when i go to the machine itself the screen is black and won't come on and if numberlock or whatever happens to be on you can't turn it off and i do notice the activity light on all six hard drives are on pretty solid. it seems light a hault to me except there is no blue screen error.

Microsoft is warning customers of a hole in the kernel of 32-bit versions of Windows that could allow someone to install programs, change data, or create new accounts with full user rights. The vulnerability, caused by the Windows kernel not properly handling certain exceptions, affects 32-bit versions of Windows 7, Vista, XP, 2000, and Server 2003 and 2008, according to the security advisory released on Wednesday night. It does not affect 64-bit versions of Windows. Full story: cNet

Bulletin Severity Rating:Critical - This security update resolves seven privately reported vulnerabilities and one publicly disclosed vulnerability in Internet Explorer. The more severe vulnerabilities could allow remote code execution if a user views a specially crafted Web page using Internet Explorer. Users whose accounts are configured to have fewer user rights on the system could be less impacted than users who operate with administrative user rights. View the full article

Hi all, First of all let me explain the situation: Currently I've got a server running Windows Server 2003 SBS. It is configured as a domain controller, has two NICs and has some filesharing. Nothing too complicated. NIC 1 is the NIC to the internet, NIC 2 is the NIC to the 5 (XP Pro) clients. All clients log in with their name onto the domain. They get internet access and access to the shared files through the server. The new configuration will be about the same. There will be one server with two NICs, one for internet, the other for the clients through a switch. The clients need to log in through the domain and have full internet access, just like in 2003 SBS …

A new version of the Crawler Toolbar has recently been released and comes with many improvements to the user experience similar to the changes we described in a previous post about the AVG Security Toolbar. It’s another great example of the Guidelines for add-on developers in action. Here are some high-level examples of the changes they’ve made: [*]The close button is visible so that users can manage it like other toolbars. Additionally, the toolbar is positioned in a supported location which improves stability and performance. [*]It no longer modifies the new tab page to maintain a predictable new tab experience for users. Many thanks to the C…

Bulletin Severity Rating:Critical - This security update resolves a privately reported vulnerability in Microsoft Windows. The vulnerability could allow remote code execution if a user viewed content rendered in a specially crafted Embedded OpenType (EOT) font in client applications that can render EOT fonts, such as Microsoft Internet Explorer, Microsoft Office PowerPoint, or Microsoft Office Word. An attacker who successfully exploited this vulnerability could take complete control of an affected system. An attacker could then install programs, view, change, or delete data, or create new accounts with full user rights. Users whose accounts are configured to have fewer u…
