When I start my Dell laptop I received one of several messages. I am running XP (dumbed down version of Vista). The messages indicate my SQL dumper is corrupt or my SQL library is missing file resources. Can anyone help me to resolve this issue?

This worked for ie8 and windows 7 As Windows7 does not have the File Types tab in the Folder Options applet, you need to edit the registry in order to reset the Open/Save choice made earlier in Internet Explorer. 1. Click Start, type Regedit.exe and press ENTER 2. Navigate to the following branch: HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ Shell \ AttachmentExecute \ {0002DF01-0000-0000-C000-000000000046} 3. In the right-pane, right-click on the appropriate entry and choose Delete 4. Exit the Registry Editor.

Hi, I found a solution for an error message on start up that states that memory could not be written at 0x7c91b21a 0x00000010. It appears the latest update for Windows Media Player is causing this problem if the Service, Windows Driver Foundation. is turned on. It needs to be disabled. I found this at Bleeping Computers and this solution worked for me. Cathy http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic261076.html

I'm running an HP dv7-1270us laptop with Vista 64. The last several weeks I've been experiencing very slow (up to 4 minutes) shutdown times. I went into the event log files and am going to paste the last two shutdown event logs below. We use a proxy server, with user login names & passwords, to connect to the internet. IE8 always comes up with a 'cannot display this web page' message on startup and we then have to hit the refresh button in the title bar to bring up the login box for the proxy server. The login box is not hiding behind the window - I have checked that. This only happens with IE8. IE7 & 6 bring up the login box straight away without the need for refresh. Does anyone have any ideas as to what is causing this discrepancy with IE8 ?

Thanks for your response J. I finally figured out what I was doing wrong. I was not using the arrows and spacebar, as well as the F1 button(info) to make necessary changes. Since my drivers loaded but Windows could not detect the device/hardware (code 41 ), I went to the manufacturer's website. Samsung Once there I found that is where you get better updates and upgrades. In the 'find' box I typed "cdrw', it took me to a page for upgrades and manuals for all types of "built in". Note: Whether or not it says manual or firmware click on it, it takes you to the page for both. For my DVD/CDROM Samsung CD-R/RW SW 248F, I found an upgrade an…

After my computer is running for a while sometimes I notice a watermark that says my copy of WIN7 is not genuine. Something about build 7600. This is a new hard drive with a clean copy of WIN7 from a retail box. I already registered it also, successfully. Why do I get this "watermark" message in the bottom right hand corner. Never happens when you first boot up. Just appear later after extended use. Well it's a dell computer with 2.6 amd dual core processor and 4G memory. 250g hdd. Thanks in advance.

It is now impossible for me to insert a hyperlink throughout the MS Office 2000 Suite. For instance, in Word 2000 the normal procedure to add a web hyperlink to a word or phrase in a document is to: 1. Highlight the word or phrase 2. Click the insert hyperlink icon 3. Click Web Page button 4. Navigate to the website to link to 5. Return to the insert hyperlink box, where the link is displayed 6. Click OK I get as far as 3 above and an error message box pops up with the message: 'An error has occurred while browsing files'. I have tried 'Repairing' Office and 'Reinstalled', all without change. I searched all over the MS he…

Hello to all - Question is what Windows registry entries or Windows INI files does Windows XP Professional use to record both the and the when an app is closed? Whenever I close an app on a dual-display pc, the app when re-opened will open on the same display and in the same mode (full screen or window) as it was in when it was closed. Obviously Windows is "remembering" this state information and storing it somewhere. I want to hard-code Display and Mode data for my apps so they are in effect “pinned†to a specific display within a dual-display desktop environment. Else, I’ll need to evaluate a third party app like Ul…

  25. Hi folks, AMD Phenom II x4 955 Onboard RAM 8G I have Windows Server 2008 and Win7 running here, both 64bit, as VM (guest) of KVM (virtualizer) and co-existing with other 4 Linux servers (64bit version). All of them are working without problem. The only problem is when opening both Win7 and WServer 2008 running on foreground, command response becomes slow and the mouse pointer not easy to control. I think it is because both Windows taking up lot of resource. If running them on background problem disappears. The strange thing is I can't find Macromed folder on both abovementioned Windows nor flash folder. They are not there \Computer\Windows\SysWOW64\Macro…
