I have some individuals within my office that use a shared excel file to conduct mail merges on a daily basis. This a 2003 excel file, and both individuals use MS Office 2003. They open the MS Word 2003 doc that they are using for the merge and begin with normal mail merge procedure. They choose to work on "email messages" and use the current doc that's open. Once they get to step 3 they browse to use an existing list , find the file in the shared folder and select to use that one. Once that is open they are asked to select which table they want to use. 15 PCs are in 10.10.1.1-10.10.1.15 Another set of 15 PCs are in 10.10.2.1 - 10.10.2.15 Subnet Mask is 255.255.255.0 Users in 10.10.1.0 should not be able to access 10.10.2.0 network and vice versa. Im pretty sure i know how to fix this but would just like a little feedback.... My co-worker wanted to used the internet on dial up but also wants to use the wireless internet at the library. I currently have the internet options set up as "dial whenever a network connection is not present" I know this works with my landline direct connection but not sure if it works the same with wireless internet. But my entry only had "remove" but no change button. So I have opened a ticket to their tech support site. Windows XP SP3 IE 7 I am having similiar problem. Cdrom play but not DVD rom. I have read about the decoders, but I am trying to reinstall originally installed one. How can I find it to do so?? Also, I cannot afford a new decoder even though they are not that expensive. I used the XP installation Cd and saw Cdrom and DVDrom. CAn I use this to reinstall the original decoder? Hi i have troubles with active desktop here my setup: Host: Windows XP With vmware virtual machines: Guests: Windows 2008 R2 Server Standard + Windows XP as Client PC I already make a group policy for wallpaper but when i login in Client PC wallpaper doesnt change, do i need to install something to windows xp client pc? Just for those still having problems with this fault. Found that it was due to SP2 upgrade disables audio in services. When I try to open or save MS Office documents to a network drive, there is a delay of several minutes. I have seen other posts on this topic that suggest removing disconnected network drives, but I have confirmed that all network drives are connected and operating properly. My OS is Windows 7, and Office 2007, with McAfee Security Center, but have same issue with Windows XP machine running Office 2003 and Norton Internet Security 2010. The only workaround I have found so far is to copy the MS Office documents to local hard drive, then open and save from there, and copy the documents back to network drive. Not very appealing.

I have an Windows Server 2008 R2 64bit and until today it just had a 700g RAID1 (Hardware based) The RAID Controller is an simple onboard SATA RAID Controller with 4 Ports. 2 of them have been used for the System and Exchange with 2x 700gb Harddrives. Yesterday i added two 1.5 gb Harddrives and created an additional RAID1 with has the state "Healthy" in Controller Bios. I started a "move" operation to a remote Computer in WinExplorer by dragging a local folder with files inside onto a shared folder in "My Network Places". This worked successfully without problems hundred times before. However this time the folder+files were moved into local folder D:\Documents and Settings\C\NetHood Why? Yes, the remote folder is accessible. When I click on the remote folder then I can see its remote content. And I have write access. I just figured out how to fix this problem. (at least what was causing my machine to do this) I use media player classic and this is the application that was causing it for me. In the settings for media player classic I went to internal filters and then "audio switcher". There was a box checked called "regain volume". After un-checking it and re-starting the program, the wav volume stayed in place when opening the media player. I only tried this because I read the post above. Thanks for the help guys.
