Is there going to be an update for Office 7 to incorporate the changes that have been made in the manner citations, etc. are handled in MLA, APA, etc. Without an update, Office 7 is now obsolete in formatting research citations. ---------------- This post is a suggestion for Microsoft, and Microsoft responds to the suggestions with the most votes. What I suggest is to get an old computer such as an 8088 and install DOS as the Operating System, then install first choice in it, you may also need an old printer, one that has the old printer cable to the PC, not a USB. Then you'll have no problems. If you need a PC to do this, contact me at pastorwilliambarhorst@yahoo.com. I would love to have a copy of PSF First Choice actually several versions of it as I have old files on disk I need for my church mission, and my pc was stolen that had First Choice on it. I had versions 1.0 and 3.0 and need them. Call me (610) 800-3923 or email me if you can get me a copy. I tried to download PFS First Choi…

Why does Vista Home Premium (with SP2) on a SONY VAIO laptop automatically installs a folder with a "files" extension with two thumbnails for every graphic data file saved anywhere? For example when I save a photo abc.jpg, a new folder abc.jpg.files is automatically added. This folder contains two 4 kb thumbnails called vcm_s_kf_m160_150x150.jpg and vcm_s_kf_repr_150x150.jpg. Is this perhaps required by some graphics viewing Windows or Sony software - which I never use. John

Using Office 2003 (outlook, word excel): I've repeatedly unchecked the adobe toolbar in view>toolbars. Every time I open a new doc or email, the toolbar is turned back on. How do i make it stay unchecked? I tried doing what was suggested in the similar question regarding Outlook 2002 but can't find the files on my machine to make the change.

Hi Echo S, thank you so much for your answer, you solved my big problem. Now I have another problem with the link between pptx and xlsx. I want to link about 80 charts from excel to ppt. But when I read the paths there isn't the difference between ones and the other, in fact when I open the pptx and push on upload now, the charts became all egual. The only way that I found is to creat 80 different sheets on excel, so the paths will be all different. You can understand that this is impossible because the charts will increase. Could you help me to solve this big problem? Thank you in advance

Update: MS10-015 security update re-released with new detection logic ....we have revised the installation packages for MS10-015 with new logic that prevents the security update from being installed on systems if certain abnormal conditions exist. Such conditions could be the result of an infection with a computer virus such as the Alureon rootkit. If these conditions are detected, the update will not be installed and the result will be a standard Windows Update error. If a user receives this error, they should go to the following landing page for additional help: http://www.microsoft.com/security/updates/015 At this time, we have re…

I got my HP4200 Series to work FINALLY. The stupid thing is that in the end, the process that worked for me was extremely easy: My HP printer is connected to my Desktop running XP. My new notebook is running Vista wireless on my home network. The printer is shared and XP is set up properly, but Vista could not connect. So... I uninstalled the printer from the Vista machine (actually did a system refresh to the point BEFORE I installed the printer to wipe out any evidence of it). Then... I went to the Add Printer function in Vista. Under add printer, instead of choosing NETWORK printer, I chose LOCAL printer. On the next window…

  16. Hi, I am a little new to the Windows environment and have been researching around this topic but I did not find any useful docs that would describe if I can replicate schema from an Active Directory into an AD LDS (formerly known ADAM) instance ? I would need only some attribute to replicate ie. username, password, phone, email address etc. Is it possible to replicate these informations from AD into a LDS ? I have found informations that describe I can replicate schema and configuration from another LDs instance but not from an Active Directory structure. Please help me if you have any links docs about this topic. THanks !

Dear All, I got Quickbooks 2002 running ok under Windows 7 (Seven) thanks to the tips in the posts above. I'm pretty sure the same tricks work also under Vista. Okay, I kinda messed up. I was 'experimenting' with the URL cache in Vista 64-bit, and created a "temportary" folder under user(me)\appdata\locallow\microsoft\cryptneturlcache, naming it Old Metadata. I moved the contents of the metadata folder into it to see if, for sure, Vista would make new metadata files (it did, just fine), but now I cannot remove my folder named Old Metadata. Vista tells me that I don't have permission, and unlocker programs can't even find that file. All I want to do is get if off the list I have no idea if there's even anything in there anymore. Help! (Not that it matters that much, I guess.)

Hi, I have a dual display running 1920x1200 with nvidia 9800GT. Vista Business sp2 with latest update previously running AVG free & Adaware, now both removed running MSE. IF I reboot my PC I can login, put it to standby and wakeup and login again no problem. But when it ges to sleep overnight for along time, say 8-10hrs+ when it wakes up I only get mouse pointer and ctrl+Alt+Del or any key does not make any window visible. But strangely when I guess the location of Password box by moving the mouse to the middle of my main monitor, the pointer changes, even though screen still black, I can type my password and login and get the screens…

This is nearly a year after these posts (March 1, 2010). I just brought an older Pentium 4 computer pack on line. It has been sitting for over a year. I upgraded the Windows XP to SP3 and downloaded about 50 updates. All of the hardware updates and most of the software updates are installed. I noticed today that my Explorer 8 menu tool bars are blacked out, just as described above. I tried everything I could think of, and then tried changing the themes (I never use anything but the Classic Windows theme. I changed it ti Windows XP theme, it changed and fixed the problem. I changed it back to Classic and it is now back to normal. Y…

When my boss opens any of his Office 2007 products it notifies him that his copy of office is not activated. It has been activated and when I check it through Options it shows that it is activated, but the dialogue pops up each time the programs are opened. I have used the FixIt from KB 919895 to delete the Opa12.dat file which fixed a communications error in activatation, but the product still doesn't think it is properly activated when it is.

thanks in advance, but i have a handful of excel 2007 users who will save a file to the server that they've made many modifications to, or just created, but the filesize reflects 0k. No pattern other than the same version of Excel. it's happened on a win2k server (i know), a Sharepoint site, and a win8k server. we've installed wireshark to analyze traffic, but that hasn't provided us any results yet. We also brought in Premier Support, but it's such a random issue that we haven't made any traction yet. thanks much for any replies. -- ken
