I dont understand why this has been going on for a year without a proper resolution. Why hasn't Microsoft fixed this yet? My office was working fine until a couple of weeks ago when this started happening to mine. I have read all the info on dde, norton, etc. This is not the problem. If dde worked before you should not have to change it to get it to work now. I have 3 computers - all running the same office and norton and anything else. The problem is only on the one computer. I have crtaeted an MMC console using mmc at run utility and named it as Security9 After creating mmc when I save it, by default its saved in the path "Desktop\Administrator\Appdata\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Administartive Tools\" When I go on start menu and click on "Administartive Tools", I dont see Security9 in the option list. Then I checked path for this "Administartive Tools" and this path was "c:\Program Data\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Administrative Tools\". I was going through exercise 3.4 of Network Infrastructure, Implementation, Management and Maintenance book. In this its stated "Attempt to logon with an account name that does not exist. The logon should fail (because there is no user account with that name)." Now when I log off as administrator and attempt to switch users, I can logon as only one of the users created in the system. Now how can I even try to logon with the non existent account name ? As I have the option to click on one of the user names created in the system and logon as one of these users only. Please explai, how can I test non-existent user. Thanks

I am trying to download trial software - windows server 2008 R2 standard edition on virtual pc. This vcirtual pc is created on my laptop. I am downloading following file. 6001.18000.080118-1840_amd64fre_Server_en-us-KRMSXFRE_EN_DVD.exe size of this file is 2269.1 MB When I click on download , I am getting save, run and cancel option in the pop up window. When I click on save button, only 685 bytes get downloaded and I get message download complete in one second. Whats wrong in here ? Why is the full size of 2269.1 MB not getting downloaded ?

will this program will let you hide the shell files as well because mine are all enable to show on all my folders and my desktop which is a bit frustrating because when I transfer file I have to make sure to import the shell icon associated with the file importing...??? -- felizcrazy

I can use Windows Fax and Scan to scan a tif without any problem, but after succesfully running Document Imaging to scan the same document, it produces nothing but a white sheet, completely blank of any data. I have Windows 7 64.

Can't get an xlsx files open with Excel 2000. Dowloaded and installed all Windows Updates.....and Compatibility pack but error message indicates that the file is in an unrecognizable format. Also tried uninstalling and re-installing office, checking for updates and installing compatibilty pack again but no luck. Any help is appreciated.

I am trying to install Office 2007 on XP and during the installation process get the following error message: Setup cannot find Rosebud.en-us\RosebudMUI.msi. Browse to a valid installation source ... I am not sure where to find this file and had assumed that whatever I needed was included on the installation disk. I checked another pc I am using with Office 2007 and don't seem to have this file on there either. What should I do next?

We get an error message, a new user is created and all desktop item are lost. Does anyone know what causes this? Any help is appreciated. This would be on a windows XP networked computer.

As anyone figured out how to edit ( I assume through a registry edit?) the time out/delay in office when you are trying to open a file and get this "initializing folders" dialog box that take forever to get rid of? I know it is because I have disconnected network drive attached that I need to delete but can anything be done about the time it takes to get rid of the message? Thanks

Ever since I loaded the program (Office 2007), anytime I recieve an email with any office documents, it starts to laod and then becomes un-responsive. Half the time if I try to open a document straight from Word, it too might or might not load. I have downloaded all the patches from the MS Office web site and it does seem to make a differrence. Does anyone know of a fix or what might be causing the problem? I have reloaded Office a couple of times thinking that might fix the issue. Real frustrated! Thanks, -- Bob

Sounds like the user installed the Office for that user only, and then the user hosed their profile. One fix would be log onto XP as an administrator and uninstall and reinstall Office. Strange problem on one machine. Help files work, however, like the show all link or any of the other links that show up, clicking on them does nothing. All other machines are working with not problem, just this one. Uninstall/reinstall does not work. It is not the customer feedback problem or the default browser. Any ideas?
