Some how my file associations in Windows Vista got messed up. The program icon that appears to be MS Front Page 2003 does not open Front Page. When I try to associate Front Page with html and htm files, it open Internet Explorer and not Front Page. I have tried to manually associate Front Page with the appropriate programs but it will not take even going through the start, default programs. I have uninstalled Front Page 2003 [which is a stand alone protram. I also have Office 2003 as a stand alone suite.] and reinstalled it. Still can't associate files with Front Page. Is there a way to reset default associations, then change to the…

Hello, I'm new to the site so if this is in the wrong section, my apology. I have three issues with my Dell Studio 1735 laptop. 1. Whenever I turn it on (I have ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650 card if that helps) or try to run the ATI Catalyst Control Center, I get the following error message: "Could not load file or assembly 'MOM.Implementation, Version= 2.0.3182.4658, Culture= neutral, PublicKey Token=90ba9c70f846762e' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified." I went to Dell Support and downloaded every download/driver update for my specific laptop, some worked, some were outdated, and other…

I have several PNY Attache 2 GB USB flash drives that do not install properly on a computer running Vista Home Premium SP2. They work just fine on other Windows Vista (Business), Windows XP and Windows 2003 computers. On this PC, the drive is detected when it is plugged in, but the driver installed is the Realtek USB 2.0 Card Reader instead of the USB Mass Storage Device driver. After the driver is installed, the drive itself is nowhere to be found. If I uninstall the driver and remove and reconnect the USB drive, the computer installs the same USB 2.0 Card Reader driver. If I try to manually change the driver to the USB Mass Storage Device driver,…

One one of our Windows XP SPK3 computers were running Office 2007. When ever your using Word or Excel and you use either the File Open or File Save commands and the Windowed Dialog Box appears with your file and folder listings it will not let you move or drag and drop a file from one location to another. Lets say you have 3 Sub Folders in My Documents ( Folder 1, Folder 2 and Folder 3 each containing files.) You notice while in the File / Open or File / Save Dialog Box window that their are several files which currently reside in the My Documents folder but should be in say Sub Folder 1. From all other systems I am able while in the File …

Hopefully your ca is inside your enterprise, you should probably take your root server offline and bring up an issuing ca as well. We just alias out the name of our internal server with an external site and make the path the exact same as the internal crl and it works for us. This really has nothing to do with AD, so I have cross posted with the security NewsGroup. Please forgive my ignorance, I don't know how to ask this any other way. I have used MS Office Products in various administrative positions for the past 10 years and think it's time to get certified. I can't afford the exam training software. My question is: are these tests hands-on like you would take when applying for a job or is it multiple choice type questions? That will let me know how to best prepare. Thank you for your help!!

I'm installing a older CRM program onto a W2008R2 server. The setup places an .INI file into the Users/ID/Windows folder for configuration of the application for each user. If a normal user logs in, the file is NOT read but if the user is setup as an Administrator, the file is read and the program performs normally. I've already setup the application to run elevated and enabled auto-elevation without prompt. Again, if the person is in the Admin group it's fine but even as a Power User it still fails. Any ideas? Ok, I have read several threads on WHS connectivity and have not seen my problem. I am running WHS on a vanilla HP EX470. Life was great until I enabled remote access. Granted it took some time to get working but it does now. My problem is WHS itself. I had do the port forwarding on my router manually but can connect remotely to WHS. When I am on the WHS itself however, I get little to no external connectivity. Webpages timeout and pinging outside my local network tells me that WHS can't see the addresses. What is going on? Help! My organization runs Office 2007 on both Windows XP Pro clients and Windows 7 Enterprise. Recently we have been noticing a problem with inserted images in both Word 2007 and Excel 2007 where you insert an image into your document and save it, and the software puts a black border on the top and the left sides of the image. We can remove the border from most Word docs by saving the file in the previous version, which we don't want to do. We can also 'sometimes' remove the border by formatting the image and removing the countour color from the 3D properties. Removing the contour helped in Excel a few times when saving in the 2003 version has not…

I have a shortcut on my Vista desktop that points to a My Pictures folder stored on an XP computer connected to our home network. Every time the folder is displayed on the Vista computer it is in details format. I have to manually change the view to Extra Large Icons. Are there any parameters that I can put in the short cut that specifies the view? Is there any other way to assure that the folder will display in Extra Large Icons. Again, this is displaying a My Pictures folder shared by another computer on our network. Thank you.

Hello, I have an ASP.NET 1.1 web service running on IIS 6.0 that I am trying to access from another machine thru anonymous access. Both machines run under the same domain and I can access the web service using Internet Explorer from the client machine. However, when I try to consume the web service I get the following exception: "Unhandled Exception: System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: Server was unable to process request. --> Security error." I noticed in IIS logs, HTTP GET requests work ok but a POST gives HTTP 500 error... Any idea what could be missing? Thanks in advance...
