I have an account that we use to connect to a university network over VPN. After connecting with the VPN the user is normally able to access the university web based database through the browser. Access to the university database (it is a web page really) is granted by validating the ip address. I am able to do this normally with all the computers except one. It had IE7. Thinking it is probably a network issue, i tried removing and reinstalling the network card driver, i brought the computer up to date in terms of service packs and patches, but the problem persists. Normally when i setup the VPN connection i use all the default settin…

I am using Microsoft Vista with office 2007 I scan document using Network scan gear and save them as files. I have a large amount of scanned files that over the years have been saved as .doc files or recently (when we switched to Vista) .tif files. I need to conver all of these to .mdi files. The .tif files I can do one at a time by right clicking on the file and selecting "rename" and changing the .tif to .mdi. Is there a way to convert more than one file at a time? The .doc files require a lenthy process to convert starting with importing the file and several other steps. Is there a way to convert .doc files easier or do multipl…

When I click Insert>Auto Text>Signature in Word 32003, all of a sudden, beside many of the choices with an > I'm seeing the message Sign Into Office Live Workspace Beta. As I said, it's beside quite a few of the choices in this drop down list. If I click it, it does nothing. I did nothing to change this. Have I gotten an Update from Microsoft that changed something? Now why would Microsoft release an update that screws up Word Pro 2003. Are we pushing 2007 or 2010? Any answers to help restore this function to its working status is greatle appreciated. I already tried the reinstall and it didn't change anything. Perhaps if I knew…

I purchased the upgrade version of the standard office software. If I uninstall the "home/student" version, then the upgrade will not install, right? Is there any other way to have the program recognize that you have upgraded from the student version to the full version so that it does not say "for non-commercial use" at the top? Is there a way to export the custom distionary, including autocorrect entries, from Word 2003 to Word 2007? In previous versions of Office, I was able to locate a file that contained the entries I'd created. Being able to save those entries and import them into a new version saved hours of work. I now have to upgrade from Office 2003 to Office 2007 and haven't been able to find anything that suggests how to do that. I'm hoping someone knows how to avoid repeating thousands of keystrokes.

When you open up a window to show the contents of a folder, just below the usual Menu Bar is the Command Bar with menus like "Organize" and "Views." That Command Bar has a sickly blue-green color. Is there any way to change the color of the Command Bar? At the very least, I would like that color to be less saturated. -- Steven L.

Hello we just upgraded our two domain controller at our main site to Server 2008, everything working. We went to our other site to replace the domain controller with a better server. Noticed since we upgraded our main servers that we are getting tons of KCC errors on our server at the remote sites, we cannot demote it to put the new domain controller in place. Everything was communicating fine until we did the upgrade at our main site how do we fix the 2003 DC that won't comunnicate with the other domains? They ping fine, but if we try to connect to the other DC from the remote site we get access denied. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, i have a server 2008 with two NICs. i have recently added routing and remote access role along with NAT capabilities. my company uses pppoe connection and i have created a demand dial interface for this connection. the clients use one of the NICs IP address as the default gateway. the demand dial interface does not connect automatically. i need to connect it manually if the connection drops. secondly, i need to amend the routing table on the server. when i do connect to the interface, i do not have my routing table updated accordingly. i always have to add route on the table and then the connection works. any light on the matter will be great. cheers

Hello everyone. I had the same problem (80070490) with Windows Update on Vista 32 bits. I tried everything I could find on Microsoft and other forums, nothing really solved the problem, so what I did was download the updates directly from the Microsoft site by entering the update code on the search bar. It took me to the download page and I installed by myself all missing updates which would not install. Windows update is working fine since. I hope this helps. Hello I use Windows XP sp3 How can I change the default size of a new subdirectory. Without using Explorer, I use "details" view of my subs, open more than one and transfer or copy files. I know I can size each sub and Windows will remember its size/location, but each time I open a data-CD or a flash-USB-drive, it default into a large, with right-half empty, subdirectory. So each time I have to resize and Windows does not remember these subs size/location. I tried to size My Computer directory, in Folder Options View tab, I asked Windows to "Apply To All Folders" like this one, no luck. How can I change the defautl? where is this size, is it in …
