"relic" wrote: > Can't speak for HP, but if you can't trust Microsoft, who can you > trust? Well, I can speak for HP. When I decided to upgrade I did a bunch of research, I knew four things to start: 1. I wanted an Intel Core i7 920, good price/performance ratio. 2. I knew I couldn't build a PC for the price since I'd need cpu, mb and memory and there are great deals around on PCs now. 3. I had previous experience with HP and knew that their website was to me very superior to other manufacturers. I have complete motherboard pics, specs, bios info, etc. along with the ability to download all original software, drivers,…

I know this is over 6 months now, but has anyone been able to find the solution for error 646? I'm still unable to install the updates using all the suggestions above. I have three updates that won't run. Does anyone think this could be a virus? I tried the advice below but it did not solve my problem. In the registry, there is no such key in my system. What else can I do to fix this? I have recently rolled out office 2007 using the cusomization file to 80 XP users. All has gone well except for one critical problem. I have had reports that page numbering isn't working and on further inspection i can see that gallery styles are also not fuctioning. The building blocks.dotx file is not copying to the users profile (C:\Documents and Settings\ user_name \Application Data\Microsoft\Document Building Blocks\1003\) which it should when a user first uses (or tries to use, as it wont work unless the building blocks.dotx fle is there) one of the said features of Word i.e inserting page numbering. If i copy the file from the …

Dieter, I'm not really an expert -- I just followed the instructions above and it worked for me. I have, though, had to re-install IntelliType several times as the OS 'forgets' key assignments. And that could be a feature of IntelliType OR AutoHotKey. Have you looked at the AHK documentation on their site? http://www.autohotkey.com/docs/Tutorial.htm You can also see documentation in your own language, which will help. Do give that a try. -- Cenfus ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Cenfus's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/members/166225.htm View this thread: http://forums.techarena…

reagan wrote: > until ubuntu tries to get another step closer to Windows 7 Now that IS funny. Where MS cloned the KDE type Panel in Win7, I surely see it the other way around. They very poorly cloned Compiz TYPE effects as well. As I see it, if you are going to clone, then at LEAST do a GOOD job of it. They proudly try and pass off their new effects as new and innovative and, well, just rocking. LOL, what a joke it really is, just like in Vista. They are so far behind with USEFUL desktop effects, they think they are first. Don't get me started on themes, as MS has ALWAYS been behind in that They just plain SUCK there. I can change themes …

(Also posted in old thread relating to the subject) Hi, I joined the forum specifically for this problem and this is my first post. I'm just going to spare you all the introductory bs and get down to my concerns. And I didn't bother reading past the first page of this thread even though it is apparently like four years old and a solution has probably already been found. Forgive me, but I'm really frustrated because I'm pretty good with computers and I've been at a standstill trying to fix this for about 5 hours now. I'm running Windows Vista Home Edition 32-Bit on my notebook. I have Microsoft Office 2007 including Outlook. My phone is a …

Everytime I open an office program for the first time since my computer has been shut off the office setup has to run again. It goes through the configuration and than asks me to register office other through the internet or over the phone. I have tried both options thinking that it was my internet connection, but nothing seems to work. I have uninstalled and re-installed office 2007 and it did not help. This problem only started to occur a few weeks ago. Is there anyway to get this problem to go away? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

John Bailey and rabbaa, Thanx for the posts, it helped me out of the same issue. I was able to correct it with John's original post and rabbaa's corrected path. I hope no one minds that I combined everything into this reply for ease of access to anyone else who needs it. I also had to go in through safe mode to correct this. I take no credit for this fix. Log on with another administrator profile. Execute regedit Goto HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList\ Go through the profiles to find yours. You can use the ProfileImagePath to identify your profile The key to your profile may have a ".bak…

On my laptop with Vista Home Premium I had not used any physical printers or their software, but did use a few print-to-pdf programs for printing to files. Recently I installed (a)software so it could access two (identical)Epson printers I have always used with my PC. All of the printing goes well as long as I print from a Windows Explorer file with Notebook-type apps, and probably Irfanview as well. But when I am online with IE7 or Firefox and click to print something from a webpage nothing works, not even my print-to-pdf anymore -- instead I get an error saying the browser IE is shutting down and in Firefox the screen goes diffuse and …

From two different computers in two different cities, I and a colleague are unable to access the office.microsoft.com "help and how-to" learning tutorials for Office.
