WE are running Windows Server 2008 Foundation. Each time a user logs on, they get the message aboe and thn Windows tries to access Miscorsft to find asolution but to no avail. This has been going on for 6 months. The OS has the latest updates.

Hi to everyone can you please help me to solve this problem. My problem is when I tried to save a file(pdf, doc, excel, ppt etc.) using the "Save Target as" on the IE8 by right click on the file link it give me the url not the file itself. I tried this on other pc the same problem it saving the url of the file. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling IE8 but still the same problem. Pleas help. Thank you. Gerald

I have an application requiring the "LocalSystem" account to start the IIS Service. It is not starting so I went to "Local Security Settings", "Local Policies", "User Rights Assignment", "Logon as Service" and the "Add" button is grayed out. There are two accounts listed which are the Administrator Account and the Network Backup Account. Where and how do I modify this Group Policy to allow the "LocalSystem" account to start IIS? I just installed Windows Updates last night and when the server was rebooted, 2008 Std 64 bit, on post it ran through \Registry\machine\Schema\wcm://Microsoft.. for like 3 hours this happened on every Win 2008 server I had. Anyone aware of why this is happening? Tommy

Hello All Forgive me I'm a newbie when it comes to this stuff so this may be a dumb question. My server running 2008 Standard is connected to a Xerox 7242. I am having issues when generating a postscript file using this printers drivers. I found a postscript driver on Xerox's website that solves the problem. In Server 2003 I am able to create a printer, even though it doesn't exist, to assign this new driver to and use that when creating a plot of my data to a postscript file. I cannot however add a nonexistant printer in Server 2008. HELP

this morning we can't seem to save any files to a shared network drive when using excel or word. we can save locally (to the C drive) and then with windows copy to the shared network folder. We can use excel or word to open from a shared network folder, just cant save it. only thing that has changed is we had 10 updates yesterday and this morning when we started our machines, issue started.
