The last few days my main volume is always set to minimum (zero) when the computer is rebooted. I can change the setting, reboot and it is back to zero. How can I return to the former behavior where reboots did not change the current setting? Many thanks!

by Guest Kitty- 0 replies

Hello, I recently installed Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2007 on my computer (Windows 7). Everything seems to be fine except – I cannot make my text boxes or auto shapes different colors. I try to format them – but the color feature isn’t working. This isn’t working for me in Publisher either. Does anyone have a suggestion? Thanks!

Office 2007 Spell Checker
by Guest Terry- 0 replies

I have a mystery. When I start spell checker in Office 207 (this has happened in Word and Excel – it may also happen in others Office 2007 programs) by hitting F7, I get a menu popup called “preparing to install†that leads to another menu that states it is installing “spelling and grammar/style checker.†This started up a day or so ago in Office 2007 Pro that I reinstalled several months ago. Not only that, but it asks me for the FrontPage 2002 CD as the source of the installation files. I do have FrontPage 2002 on the computer. I would be grateful if someone could tell me what is going on and how I get rid …

Office Activation
by Guest slew0302- 0 replies

A new version of Genuine Advantage was recently installed. Now whenever I open an Office app, I am told I need to activate it. But I click on Help->Activate and I learn my product is already activated. I'm running Windows XP Professional v 5.1.2600 SP 3 Build 2600. My version of Word, for example, is Microsoft Word 2002 (10.6856.6858) SP3. When I pull down Help->About, I see that each product is licensed to me. I believe I bought this copy of Office with my Dell desktop -- quite a long time ago. I've never had issues with licensing or activation before.

Removing a password
by Guest Artreid- 0 replies

In order to continue booting up I Need to enter the password. I want to remove this as I am the only one using the computer and honestly, It's a pain. The only reason I gave it a password is because no where during installation does it tell you, You don't have too... I think Peters suggestion will work (have not tried it yet as I am in Boston and computer is in NY). However, I would like to remove the password I setup all together, as if it never existed. (Preferably without having to re-install Vista)... "smlunatick" wrote in message news:7d23e823-7fd1-4076-a167-c7e9baa2a671@a15g2000yqm.googlegroups.com... On Jan 11, 7:16 pm, "Artre…

canon mp560
by Guest steve parr- 0 replies

Hello Kevin, Thanks for your research. I found the file usbscan.sys in four different locations - three in 'File Repository' folders, and one in windows/system32/drivers. I wasn't sure which one to copy, so I copied the newest one, which was in windows/system32/drivers. I copied it to the windows/inf folder and then made a new folder, 'windows/drivers' and copied it there as well. Restarted the computer, and tried reinstalling the drivers for my new canon mp560. No dice. You mentioned that you discovered that windows was searching for the usbscan.sys file in a log file. Could you tell me how to do that so I could try and figure out what the driver ins…

The RSA Security Conference is underway this week in San Francisco and Microsoft's own Scott Charney, Corporate Vice President Trustworthy Computing, delivered one of yesterday's keynote addresses: Creating a Safer, More Trusted Internet. The keynote centered on Microsoft's Trustworthy Computing initiative, our End to End Trust vision, and how we have been working to further protect the security and privacy of for all the users of the Internet. The End to End Trust vision has not changed over the last couple of years and we don't anticipate it changing for some time. We continue to make progress along this vision and Scott outlined many areas where we are actively …

Is there going to be an update for Office 7 to incorporate the changes that have been made in the manner citations, etc. are handled in MLA, APA, etc. Without an update, Office 7 is now obsolete in formatting research citations. ---------------- This post is a suggestion for Microsoft, and Microsoft responds to the suggestions with the most votes. PFS First Choice (yes there are STILL some people who use it) andVista
by Guest pastorbarhorst- 0 replies

What I suggest is to get an old computer such as an 8088 and install DOS as the Operating System, then install first choice in it, you may also need an old printer, one that has the old printer cable to the PC, not a USB. Then you'll have no problems. If you need a PC to do this, contact me at pastorwilliambarhorst@yahoo.com. I would love to have a copy of PSF First Choice actually several versions of it as I have old files on disk I need for my church mission, and my pc was stolen that had First Choice on it. I had versions 1.0 and 3.0 and need them. Call me (610) 800-3923 or email me if you can get me a copy. I tried to download PFS First Choi…

Unwanted folders with graphics
by Guest JLW- 0 replies

Why does Vista Home Premium (with SP2) on a SONY VAIO laptop automatically installs a folder with a "files" extension with two thumbnails for every graphic data file saved anywhere? For example when I save a photo abc.jpg, a new folder abc.jpg.files is automatically added. This folder contains two 4 kb thumbnails called vcm_s_kf_m160_150x150.jpg and vcm_s_kf_repr_150x150.jpg. Is this perhaps required by some graphics viewing Windows or Sony software - which I never use. John
