Whenever i download certain docx files from my e-mail server IE wants to save them as a zip file. I've seen some fixes posted around the internet and none of them have worked. things i've tried: *setting "Open files based on content instead of extension" to disabled *updating .net framework *ensuring group policy reflects the first thing I do not have access to the server to edit the MIME types, and using a different browser is not an option. Hi, I had posted this question before, but I think I placed it in the wrong area so i apologize. Apparently a lot of people where having a problem saving Office files to servers after the MS update on April 13th--- I have the same problem and I have been attempting to remove the KB980232 update without success. The update does not shown up in Add/Remove programs. Does show up by going to the MS Update site as being installed on the 4/13. I like the new My Page homepage customization feature, but every few days my settings disappear and my homepage is back to the standard msn.com. I'm in the same boat as the rest...I have been tring to get updates on my laptop since April 2010...i have followed the steps that the help and support said and it doesn't clear out...I have talked to a Microsoft rep... and followed her steps that she sent in an email.. and you know what I still can't get updates...
