END KEY GOES PAST END OF LINE IN WORD 2003 When I am editing a document, and I am on the last line of a paragraph, I press the end key. Usually it is supposed to take me to the end of the line, to a point BEFORE the paragraph mark. I use this, for example, to add one more sentence to the current paragraph, at the end. However, in Word 2003 that I am using, about 75% of the time, when I press the end key on the last line of the paragraph, the cursor goes PAST the paragraph mark. The other 25% of the time, it correctly goes to the end of the line, and before the paragraph mark, so I can easily add another sentence to this paragr…

For those of you who have tried various permutations of all the above suggestions, this combination worked for a client. Both must be performed, and in the order shown: 1. Delete this registry key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\SharedTools\ProofingTools\1.0\Override\en-US 2. Repair Office 2007 through the control panel's add/remove programs (Change) function No reboot was necessary. As soon as the repair completed, the spell checker worked. Note that this worked for MS Word only, and not for MS Outlook. -- LarryScott ------------------------------------------------------------------------ LarryScot…

I want to create a document in which I can list all the ingredients of my recipes. I then want to be able to EASILY compare each recipe against all the others to make sure that no two recipes are the same with just a different name. I saw something like this many years ago, where the ingredient names were done on an angle that came off the top of the page (thus taking up less room, and where a number of 'rows' could be 'frozen(?)' as the rest of the information was scrolled up to compare to the information in the last recipe that was frozen on the top of page. My question is what program might this be from and how do I get this accomplished?…

Microsoft has relied on the "better together" concept to sell Windows client and Windows Server as a package. It also has done the same with previous versions of Office and Windows. But on May 12 -- the day Microsoft is launching Office 2010 and SharePoint 2010 in New York -- Microsoft will be playing up how Office, SharePoint and SQL Server work better together. More...

Today project management software is used by almost every company. It is a tool without which one can live. Doing business online and communicating with everyone in regards to the progress and requirements of the project would not have been possible without the help of project management software. I would like to share my experience. I'm glad to use services from Project-drive Team. Besides Project Management Software, they have Employee Time Tracking Software, Web Based Project Management Software, and Free Web Based Project Management Tools. Go http://freetrial.project-drive.net/account_pd.jsp for the services provided by Project Dr…

Hi When opening a meeting in Outlook 2010, it's possible to go to the tracking pane and see who accepted, declined or are tentative. For severel years (since Outlook 2003), I've missed the possiblity to click the 'Response' column, to sort the responses! This must be an easy thing to implement! In addition, I'm missing three reply buttons in the open meeting window - Reply accepted - Reply declined - Reply tentative Please concider implementing these suggestions! Cheers, Martin ---------------- This post is a suggestion for Microsoft, and Microsoft responds to the suggestions with the most votes. To…

Hi I just installed the office beta which you need to be able to use web apps, but when I go to File > Share in any office program, it says Signed in as: Steven. I have no idea who Steven is or why it says that but there's no link to sign out. Anyone seen this?

Hi I am trying to launch notepad.exe and if someone closes it, I will bring it back up (polling one time every minute). For this I am using schtasks When I run schtasks as the currently logged in user I have no problem at all. I am using the following command: schtasks /create /sc minute /mo 1 /tn "notepad_task" /tr "\"C:\WINNT \notepad.exe\"" But I want to start this as system user. I therefore add the /ru system to the end of the command. The command now looks the following: schtasks /create /sc minute /mo 1 /tn "notepad_task" /tr "\"C:\WINNT \notepad.exe\"" /ru system The problem is that even though this command w…

It seemed like a good idea to some Microsoft developers (for a brief moment): Why not add support for both the -ms and -webkit prefixes in the version of the Internet Explorer (IE) mobile browser Microsoft was building for Windows Phone 7 devices? It turns out the idea was a bad one and Microsoft has reversed course. More...

We’ve written a lot about the support we’re building in Internet Explorer 9 to allow developers to write the same markup and get the same results across browsers. IE9 includes two new features that are great for web developers writing same markup: DOM Range and the HTML5 Text Selection APIs. DOM Range provides a simple, consistent way to extract and manipulate a piece of a document. It’s also the underlying unit of the HTML5 Text Selection APIs, which help you connect with one of the common ways that users interact with the browser – selecting text. As a developer, HTML5 Selection gives you a way to programmatically get and set the pieces of a page your use…

"I had six Failed updates in View Update History. I managed to remove one of six Failed updates, so I know it can be done. *It is also true that I apparently have some problem with my short term memory*..., that is why I don't know how I did it the first time. I understand that History Logs are just history..., meaning the selected updates were never installed. I would still like to remove the other five Failed update logs. I'm using Windows Vista Home Premium SP2 32bit." -- GregoryBrown

For all the noise about -- and from -- Google giving Microsoft a run for its money in the office/productivity market, the reality is rather different, according to Forrester Research. New Forrester data, released on May 11, claims that 81% of the enterprises it surveyed are running Office 2007 and 78% supporting SharePoint, compared to only 4% using Google Apps. More...

Bulletin Severity Rating:Critical - This security update resolves a privately reported vulnerability in Outlook Express, Windows Mail, and Windows Live Mail. The vulnerability could allow remote code execution if a user visits a malicious e-mail server. An attacker who successfully exploited this vulnerability could gain the same user rights as the local user. Users whose accounts are configured to have fewer user rights on the system could be less impacted than users who operate with administrative user rights. Read the Full Article
