Hi Marek, I also had the same problem and followed the steps you suggested and the issue is now resolved. For those who still need help with this problem here is a step-by-step solution for one suggestion that has already been posted on this thread that could potentially solve the problem. HAVE AN EXTERNAL DRIVE ON HAND IF YOU WANT TO KEEP YOUR IMPORTANT FILES AS THE PROBLEM CAN REOCCUR IN A MATTER OF HOURS AFTER IT HAS BEEN "FIXED". 1: If you have a black screen, but your computer STILL turns on, you may be able to fix this problem. All you have to do is plug an external monitor into your laptop to get a display up. IF you connect an external monitor and that fails to work, you're probably out of luck (because your graphics card might re…

CSS3 Selectors enable complex styling of webpages using simpler CSS and less script than previously possible. As we demoed back in November, and updated in March and May with the IE9 Platform Preview Builds, IE9 includes full support for CSS3 selectors. This is a feature which web developers requested and we are excited to fulfill this need. I only request one desktop shortcut of a web page I like, yet I end up with two though only one of them works. The other one has only a General tab, without the Web Document tab and URL. I only noticed this recently.

Vista 32 bit Ultimate Local printers - USB Network printers - SBS2003 R2 When I boot system, shared files access to SBS are OK and internet access through SBS is OK. I just stopped printing. When I launch control panel the green line takes forever to complete in normal and does open in classic. When I open devices and printers, the green line takes forever and when it complete, no printer objects are shown. This just started happening. I did turn off sidebar because that seemed to be corrupt. I manually launch it ( sidebar) and get rotating circle and have to "close the program" Any thoughts on how to get printers back? …

I have a 'pen mouse' (A 'bamboo tablet' if this makes things clearer) and have only just discovered that on the word 2007 toolbar there are 'ink' options which allow me to scribble and draw in word documents. Every time I start Word the pens go back to default settings - e.g. the felt tip pen is always red and a certain width. Is there anyway to change the default settings on this particular function? Thanks -- doghouseriley

I've seen more than a few customers and press/bloggers wondering about how and when Microsoft plans to roll out some of the new SharePoint 2010 capabilities to customers of its hosted SharePoint Online service. Markk...just found this today...05/13/10... what, a year+ later? I have been trying to figure this out for six weeks, just after upgrading to IE7 --- never had the problem before that. And like you, couldn't find an answer anywhere. Thank you very much for posting this...checked the minute I saw it and, yep, there it was...deleted it and now everything works perfectly.... Again, thanks for helping me remove a miserable problem. j. -- jwesley63

Hi, I'm writing some code that reads the FileName attribute file records from the MFT by using the FSCTL_GET_NTFS_FILE_RECORD api call. I've noticed that, for most records, the DataSize, AllocatedSize and LastWriteTime are accurate when compared to the values in the win explorer file properties dialog. However, for some more recent files/records the size values are always 0 and the timestamp is incorrect. Has anyone experienced this issue? I'm hoping to gain an understanding of how/when NFTS updates the record with the correct values. Thanks. -- Matt
