I use google to host POP3 type email for a few of my own Domains. They provide the gmail interface for web based email, but I import it all to my desktop to use Outlook as my prefered email client. The google spam filter cannot be turned off, but it does a good job. So, I want to have the Junk mail settings in Outlook totally off. I have set the options for no filtering, but still alot of my email ends up there? I have seen this mentioned on other Forums, but the only fix I found was a reg fix that was very confusing. Does anyone know of a downloadable reg file that can totally disable the Junk mail filtering in Outlook 2010. Or is there a r…

Whilst having problems with a series of BSODs over the last couple of days, I had a look in system restore with the mad thought in mind that at some point it could help but mainly with the intention to check to see if I can restore at any point during the 100 Software Distribution Service 3 entries since Feb 24 2010. Going back through all points, I was surprised that there were only 4 check points and to my horror I saw that PC Defender had been installed on March 24. If this is that rogue one that has been of interest for a while, then I could find no trace in my system - probably too well hidden - but I have done countless scans with MS Se…

A recent article incorrectly suggested that Internet Explorer add-ons must send and store cookies when making HTTP requests. That&rsquos simply not true-- Internet Explorer APIs enable add-ons to respect the user&rsquos privacy and not leak information. Existing APIs are available to add-ons running in any version of IE to accomplish the task described in the article. An add-on using WinINET to issue HTTP requests can suppress default cookie behavior by passing the flag INTERNET_FLAG_NO_COOKIES, which will suppress automatic sending and storage of cookies. INTERNET_FLAG_NO_COOKIES 0x00080000 Does not automatically add cookie headers …

Found this thread while looking for a solution to this problem one of our users was facing. Figured I would share my solution just in case this is still a problem to others. I found there were 2 instances of Office installed on this system - 2007 Basic and Small Business Server 2003 (Powerpoint ONLY). I uninstalled Office 2003 altogether and Repaired Office 2007 using the installation files. This and a reboot resolved the issue. -- ITBoy@HL ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ITBoy@HL's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/members/224904.htm View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in…

This is a great thread - thanks to all who contributed. I found deleting everything in C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS and restarting the spooler did it. BUT... I often get this problem when printing big files... finally had to break one graphics heavy pdf into chunks and print one by one, to stop the problem recurring. I wonder if there's a memory allocation problem - do I need to reallocate more memory to the spooler?? And if so... how??? Hello. I have a terminal server with Windows 2008 R2 instaled, these server haven't got A.D, but have terminal server license (users mode). The users are in the Remote Desktop groupe int global policy, and on the Remote Desktop policy local (in Terminal server) too. The first problem: The users can't validate in the server, "access denied", i resolve these with new input in regedit: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server, IgnoreRegUserConfigErrors=1. But a new problem appears, when a user are validate in the server, it haven't got network, the firewall are desactivated and a ping to the same server says: Can't find IP controler. Ge…

hi guys I need to mount/map a smbshare (\\smbshare\myfolder) as a local unit (G:). please, note: *local* unit. windows must believe that I am using a local unit, not a network unit. Some software I am using needs this. I hate it, but I cannot change it. ok. I found a software named NetDrive, that does exactly what I need with FTP servers (it lacks the "bidirectional" behavior, by the way: if i change something on the "virtual local unit", the change reflects suddenly on FTP server, but if i change something onto the remote server, I must shutdown and reopen the connection to let Windows see the last changes...) someo…

Thanks to this website my problem was fixed. I had the error User Profile Service - Service failed logon. Fix: - When turning on the computer I hit the F8 key several times. - The black screen came up I clicked on the Safe Mode command. - I was able to open up my computer by this Safe Mode command. - I clicked on the help window - One of the options was restore at a earlier date. - I started a virus scan right away on my McCafee and so far everything is working. Except I lost all my favorites. Little price to pay! Good luck all and thank you! -- harri709

"In his famous speech in Washington, DC, in Fall 2003, former Colorado Governor Richard D. Lamm stated on his plan on how America can be destroyed. He said, "I would establish dual citizenship and promote divided loyalties. I would celebrate diversity. Diversity is a wonderfully seductive word. It stresses differences rather than commonalties. Diverse people worldwide are mostly engaged in hating each other-that is, when they are not killing each other. A diverse, peaceful, or stable society is against most historical precedent. People undervalue the unity it takes to keep a nation together, and we can take advantage of myopia. We can put the…
