I happens on my desktop as well as my laptop with different graphics cards. I've updated both to the latest drivers but nothing works. Thanks in advance.

We are running Vista Business with Vista SP2 (Build 6002: Service Pack 2) at work. Unfortunately we cannot get unsolicited remote assistance to work with them. These are domain machines in a single domain environment. -The admins belong to the local administrators group on the machines. -The Windows firewall is not enabled -You can connect to the machine by either using \\machinename or by using remote desktop...but NOT remote assistance -Under "System Properties" >> "Remote", "Allow Remote Assistance connections to this computer" is checked. Under "Remote Desktop" "Allow connections from computers running any version of Remote Desktop (less secur…

Blue screen then boots into Windows.
by Guest 7777- 0 replies

Hello, have a Windows 2003 Server machine that crashed yesterday with a blue screen in which I tried to reboot a few times afterwards but got a DOS message saying something like hard drive not found (I know I should've wrote down the error messages). I remember hearing of putting the hard drive in the freezer in which maybe I'll let it stay turned off and try again in the morning in trying to cool it off in which it appears to have booted into Windows successfully currently so am wondering are there some steps like running disk defrag or some other windows system tools to perhaps fix any corrupted areas on the hard drive/o.s. while I have windows up and r…

Win XP remote Assistance
by Guest flowjock- 0 replies

I have set up remote assistance such that from one computer (A or others) I can remote connect to either of 2 other computers (B and C). The invitation is a file in a shared folder on my server (the server is not A, B, or C). There is a separate invitation for B and C. These both worked fine for a couple weeks. Between A and C still works fine. However, when I try to remote connect between A and B it takes a long time (compared to connecting to C) and when the remote connection finally opens I get a windows login screen (this does not happen on A-c connection). As far as I can tell B and C are set up identically. I have checked that remote assistanc…

20 Critical Controls for Effective Cyber Defense
by Guest ~BD~- 0 replies

http://www.sans.org/cag/guidelines.php This item starts with ............ Securing our nation against cyber attacks has become one of the nation's highest priorities. To achieve this objective, networks, systems, and the operations teams that support them must vigorously defend against a variety of threats, both internal and external. Furthermore, for those attacks that are successful, defenses must be capable of detecting, thwarting, and responding to follow-on attacks on internal enterprise networks as attackers spread inside a compromised network. A central tenet of the US Comprehensive National Cybersecurity Initiative (CNCI) is that "offens…

I have a Windows 2008 x64 Enterprise Ed server running Exchange 2007 on a Dell 2950 hardware platform that is crashing on a daily basis. My crash dump analyses says “Probably caused by : bxnd60a.sys ( bxnd60a+ba5a )â€Â, however, I have installed the very latest NIC driver release from Broadcom. The server is patched to the latest level of service pack (SP2) and post sp2 patches. Exchange is patched with the latest rollup service pack. Are there any other suggestions / help that I can pursue to resolve this annoying situation? SamC Opened log file 'c:debuglog.txt' Microsoft

RE: DISK IS WRITE PROTECTED
by Guest CJ- 0 replies

I got the same message when trying to delete some pictures from my camera's SD card. I spent a lot of time changing settings in the software and got nowhere. Then I found the following online: "there is a small switch that has lock written on the side. If this is pushed down, the drive is write protected, push it in the opposite direction and it may fix your problem." It did fix the problem! Maybe your CR-RW has a similar switch that is causing this error. Just a thought. The results of the American Customer Satisfaction Index shows that the overall consumer ratings of the PC industry has increased by 1 percent rebounding from two successive years of decline largely blamed on the sentiments of users on Microsoft Windows Vista.
