Need help with CACL's between two domain
by Guest Moondoggy- 0 replies

I have a question that perhaps someone can help answer. We have a production domain and a test domain and there exists a one way trust where test trusts production. While logged onto my production XP Pro PC I used a RUN AS to open a command windows using my production domain administrator's account and then attempted to run the following CACL's command involving a folder and a user account in our test environment. cacls \\c1app422\users\id99998 /T /E /G CFTDomain\id99998:c /r "CFDomain\Domain Users" When run, the program it retuns an error message "No mapping between account names and security IDs was done" If I go to an XP Pro PC in …

Hi, I'm following Microsoft's instructions to create a bootable USB flash disk with a Windows 7 Enterprise custom image but I get an error when I run sysprep in Audit mode. cardreaderlookupwindow error
by Guest homelite- 0 replies

There is a discussion on an old version of this forum that talks about this error, but I want to add what I found - I can't add to the old forum. My computer has been stable for several months. About a week or two ago I got invited to try ZumaDrive which is a cloud drive. I installed it and tried to understand it and got it figured out somewhat. Then, a few days ago I plugged in my card reader to upload a picture to Facebook. That evening, when I shut down Windows, I got my first occurrence of cardreaderlookupwindow not responding and then every time I did a shutdown or restart there it was. My card readers still work and I can "safely re…

I did a disk cleanup yesterday due to a small amount of space on my hard drive. However I have been trying to open word doc and adobe doc and they are blank saying something along the lines of "fonts not available". So i opened the control panel>fonts and clicked right clicked on one saying 'open'. Then word opens with a box saying "File Conversion - BOD_B.TTF". then it says "select the encoding that makes your document readable: Text encoding- Windows default or MS_DOS or Other encoding I click windows default and a whole lot of jibberish comes up on the screen. Please help! I have a assignment due. Post Originated from http://www.V…

New Windows 7 Acer Laptop Security Status
by Guest c_atiel- 0 replies

You should have a real time Anti-virus program to catch the low lying fruit. I would uninstall McAffee and install Microsoft Security Essentials, which is free. Your computer will then revert to the Windows firewall. AVG is also still a reasonably good free antivirus program. I believe MSE replaces Windows Defender. Third party firewalls are overkill for almost all users and often interfere with ordinary web surfing and p2p network setup. The Windows Firewall and the hardware firewall in your router are enough. I find Malwarebytes, which is also free, to be the best tool for initially scanning and removing suspected malware. None of these progra…

trying to reinstall the coprocessor

under devise manager a coprocessor driver should be found by installing all of your chipset drivers for either or your mainboard and your video cards if your unit is from a mainstream manufacturer should be easy to get drivers go to their site and download all drivers for your unit save and name them so you know what each one is for and then you should be able to figure out which one it is for the next time lol -- monarch-2 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ monarch-2's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/members/214784.htm View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/vista-hardware-devices/93304…

The fix is simple.. - Uninstall Compatibility Pack for the 2007 Office system and re-install When opening a file with the converter, it saves it in %userprofile%\Local Settings\Temp. You could also try to clean out that directory and then restart your computer. -- a4433661 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ a4433661's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/members/214780.htm View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/ms-office-support/1012642.htm http://forums.techarena.in

I have tried TWO Dazzle DVC100's and neither works with my new HP computer (system 7, 8GB ram, 256MB navidia graphics card). No video at all -- no matter what I try. But if I run the Windows hardware diagnostic tools and check the Dazzle for capturing -- it shows video (5 seconds) and says it's working fine. If I use Alt+F11 to go to the help facility within my Office Enterprise 2007, I get no help information. For instance, if I click on “Concepts†I get “No results available.â€Â. If I click on “Getting Startedâ€Â, I get the same thing. I have uninstalled my office and reinstalled it again with the same result. I have tried this on a co-worker’s machine and they work fine. Any ideas what is going on (or not going on)?

Auto Correct Problem
by Guest m galvin- 0 replies
My company is using an Access based program. We use an Auto Correct file (*.acl) to post entries: e.g. TT = TELEPHONE TO, CW = CONFERENCE WITH. The problem is that we want these codes to function only when using Access. People are upset when using Outlook or Word and they type in letter combinations and get posting code entries. No one wants to have to keep turning the "replace text as you type" function on and off as we change MS programs. Can I shut off the AutoCorrect function "replace text as you type" in all but Access? Alternatively, is there a way to use different *.acl files in each program: Access, Word, Outlook, etc.?

where to find construction symbols (sq. ft. etc...)
by Guest JoAnn Paules [MVP]- 0 replies

I know the symbol you are talking about but only because I've used in in previous jobs. Unfortuantely that symbols isn't universally used. Some people use ft with a superscript 2. My advice would be to use the abbreviation "sq ft" to avoid any confusion. -- JoAnn Paules MVP Microsoft [Publisher] Tech Editor for "Microsoft Publisher 2007 For Dummies" "Michael Ralph Krause" wrote in message news:... > Message-ID: > X-Mailer: http://www.umailcampaign.com, ip log:71.237.77.18 > Newsgroups: microsoft.public.office.misc > NNTP-Posting-Host: 22.bb.5446.static.theplanet.com 70.84.187.34 > Path: TK2MSF…
