Update - Microsoft Responds to the Evolution of Community
by Guest Guest- 0 replies

What is Happening? This message is to inform you that Microsoft will soon begin discontinuing newsgroups and transitioning users to Microsoft forums. Why? As you may know, newsgroups have existed for many years now however, the traffic in the Microsoft newsgroups has been steadily decreasing for the past several years while customers and participants are increasingly finding solutions in the forums on Microsoft properties and third party sites. This move will unify the customer experience, centralize content, make it easier for active contributors to retain their influence, mitigate redundancies and make the content easier to find by cus…

I have been IE/MSFT user for the past decade. I like the new IE but one thing which frustrate me every time is the lag time to navigate between the tabs. I have started using Firefox more just becuase there is no lag time when i have to switch between the tabs. Temporary Internet Content and Cookies not working correctly
by Guest Ted Smith- 0 replies

I am running Vista with IE7, and I check my Temporary Internet Content and Cookies regularly. Internet Explorer 7's normal filing procedure is to put most Content and Cookies in SUBFOLDERS of C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Low\Content.IE5, or of C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Cookies\Low. Suddenly the system is putting ALL CONTENT in the single folder: C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files. It is putting ALL COOKIES in the single folder: C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Cookies. The only change that has occurred is that I h…

Show me tabs in all Microsoft Office Applications
by Guest Jarvis Crofts- 0 replies

I hate having to move between documents within the same office application through the task bar. Office should implement tabs at the top of all office applications, allowing me to quickly and easily manage different documents. Similar to Microsoft Excel's workbook tabs, but with cross-document support. I have lots of other ideas and solutions to problems I believe exist within Microsoft Office. ---------------- This post is a suggestion for Microsoft, and Microsoft responds to the suggestions with the most votes. Hi, I have an issue with Windows NLB and I'm not sure if it should be behaving like it is right now. Basically, I installed Windows Server 2008 R2 on two VMs using ESXi 4. Installed IIS and NLB on both servers. Set one server's priority to 1 (Server A)) and the other's to 2 (Server B)). All ports allowed and affinity set to single. Communication set to multicast. I tested access using another VM on the same network. [Affinity=Single] With both servers online, I telnet to the cluster IP and hostname on port 80. No problems. Then I brought Server A offline. Server B remains online. Telnet fails on both cluster IP and hostname. Next, I brought Server A online and Se…

by Guest Guest- 0 replies

Date 5/4/2010 Starting in early summer 2010, Microsoft will begin progressively closing down the Microsoft public newsgroups to enrich conversations in the rapidly-growing forum platform. This decision is in response to worldwide market trends and evolving customer needs. Microsoft continues to invest in forums to reduce customer effort, consolidate community venues and make it easier for active contributors to retain their influence. Forums provide a healthy community environment with less spam and make answers easier to find by customers and search engines. Additionally, forums offer a better user and off-topic management plat…

Position screen at end of macro
by Guest Kevryl- 0 replies
2nd attempt - sorry if it has already shown up somewhere. I've searched & can't find. So far, at the end of a macro I've been sending the cursor across to various columns and back to position the screen. Its a bit clumsy, and of course when you work between different sized computer monitors it doesn't work the same. Is there a quick way to position a particular cell at top left of screen - and perhaps on a separate occasion a particular cell at bottom right? Thanks.

Hi all, We ultimately need a GPO that will kill any Microsoft Access process after a certain amount of time. I know for a fact the GPO's are capable of locking the users PC after say a 15 minute idle duration, but is it at all possible (scripts, any means necessary) to kill any lingering MSACCESS.EXE process the user may have going before lockifng their PC?

Intermittent loss of internet connection Vista Ultimate

New machine running Win7 home premium, Buffalo router and trendnet adapter in wireless mode. I had same intermittent internet problem, but I also have a wireless desktop 6000 by Microsoft and was having brief spells of both the mouse freezing or keystrokes not registering. This setup had worked fine with Win XP. I was veryery frustrated as is everyone else. I thought that Win7 had solved the multitude of Vista problems I had paid extra to avoid. I read all of these threads, the one making the most sense having to do with the DCHP client. The fix required changing something in the registry, which I do not know how to do and was leery of tryin…
