I was trying to use Google Voice to send a fax. I had the dialing string wrong. So, while my fax thinks it is connected to a fax number, I am hearing....we are sorry, if you would like to make a call............ I press the cancel/stop button nothing happens. I even try to turn it off and nothing happens. I ended up having to unplug it to stop it. Anyone know how to stop the machine? I started the fax using the address book dialing directory, but I was trying to use the buttons on the machine to stop.

OMG! This just started for me this past Sunday. Everything was fine before that. the only way I can get online is through 'Safe Mode.' Now, I've tried the System Restore several times, rebooting, and the deletion of the Network Devices. When I tried to start the DPS manually, the system cycles, but I get error message 1053, system did not respond in time to the request. I see this is a prevalent occurrence but I wanted to know how did it happen and how can I get this repaired without taking the computer back to factory specs. I can't be bothered with eye-candy, so I am using the "Windows Classic" theme. I notice, however, that if I do select the Windows 7 theme, the darker color of the TaskBar (+ LaunchPad) makes the icons much more visible. Any way of getting the darker TaskBar with the Windows Classic theme? Perce

Bulletin Severity Rating:Critical - This security update resolves a publicly disclosed vulnerability in the Windows Help and Support Center feature that is delivered with supported editions of Windows XP and Windows Server 2003. This vulnerability could allow remote code execution if a user views a specially crafted Web page using a Web browser or clicks a specially crafted link in an e-mail message. The vulnerability cannot be exploited automatically through e-mail. For an attack to be successful, a user must click a link listed within an e-mail message. Read the Full Article

Bulletin Severity Rating:Critical - This security update resolves a publicly disclosed vulnerability in the Canonical Display Driver (cdd.dll). Although it is possible that the vulnerability could allow code execution, successful code execution is unlikely due to memory randomization. In most scenarios, it is much more likely that an attacker who successfully exploited this vulnerability could cause the affected system to stop responding and automatically restart. I have asked at other forums without any response. I need some starting code to get going on the assignment of drives to various users according to their group membership. Can someone point me to a resource for VBscripting this? I know it involves freeing up drives and then checking the user for group membership and then giving them rights to the group drive. Thanks.

My app can send emails just fine, but if my email accounts/domains are hosted on the same machine (using Smartermail) then they never arrive. I tracked down the issue in the Administrative Events (in Server Manager) and it says: Message delivery to the remote domain 'baroquepop.com' failed for the following reason: Unable to deliver the message because the destination address was misconfigured as a mail loop. No doubt the solution is simple but I've looked everywhere without success. What's causing this mail loop?
