I have a small VB script that I put in logon script of Windows 2008 Group policy. All the users in the domain are able to get the script - the script is basically ask the end user to fill-in some information in the GUI. Some guys are filling the information and some guys are quitting the application and getting in to their work. My question here is that - Can we put any restriction on logon script so that user must enter the information and then only he/she can move forward to work. Thank you

  4. I have configured Windows server2003 active directory and I see some of the clients are not getting controlled by group policy settings of the AD server. I put the standard wall paper, screen locking, password policy etc. How to check whether all the clients are getting controlled by the server and how to make sure that the clients are applied with AD group policy settings. My clients are running with XP 32bit and XP 64bit and all the clients are given the AD server IP as the primary DNS, still some of the policies doesn't work. All the systems are up to date with Windows pacthes and with latest available service pack. Thank you.

Hi :) This is starting to annoy me, but I can't seem to fix it, so I though i might drop a question here. I have AD and DNS running on my windows server. I tried to join the domain with a client, and got the error "The network path was not found" or something like that.. Alright, so as my DNS server is working, and client is setup to use it, i tried to share a folder on my server called "share" I then tried to connect to it using \\server-ip\share And then i got a message saying that the path was invalid, I then tried just to connect to the ip, which didn't help either. Alright, it could be the firewall blocking, so i disabled the firewall, tried and got …

Not sure if what I want to do is possible, but here goes. I work at a small middle school. We are running server 2008, and have assigned all teacher laptops by an assigned school district number. i.e. A123456 (this is the username when they signon) All these folders reside in C:\data\users\teachers\ folder What I would like to have displayed in the right hand pane of the windows explorer when the "teachers" folder is highlighted (in the left pane) is a column with the last name of the teacher so I don't have to keep looking up their numbers when I want to work on their folders. When I right click on the Column header, there is a column heading offered call…

I have RDS running on a Server 2008 R2. Using the RemoteApp Manager, I added the Calculator applet and QuickBooks application to the RemoteApp Programs list. On my WinXP sp3 workstation I set up two RDP files for each of the above apps. Calc runs fine, but Quickbooks gives me the "Access is Denied" error. The folder permissions for each seem to be the same. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance
